I need some help. My friends and I just ran our first D&D session last week and I am the DM. I have them going through a dungeon and they are almost at the end of it, i want to hand out a magic item to each person but don't know what would be OP. They are level 3 currently. We have a monk that goes unarmed, a bard, a sorcerer and a rouge. Does anyone know what I should give each of them?
If you're just starting out, and all the magic items look "really cool!" right now - there may be a temptation to give out magic items that could overbalance the party. You appear to be taking care with that, not wanting to give them items that are OP.
Giving out consumable items - scrolls, potions, etc. - is a self-correcting problem: even if you end up giving the party "too much" right now, they won't hold onto it forever.

The crawling things of the earth, such as insects, snakes, and vermin, are attracted to this item. When placed on the ground, such creatures will scurry toward the item like moths drawn to the flame.

If you really want it to be a weapon, armor or trinket you can use this site to generate a "weak magic item"

Example:

The bearer may use their reaction to gain a +1 AC bonus until the end of the turn.

The crawling things of the earth, such as insects, snakes, and vermin, are attracted to this item. When placed on the ground, such creatures will scurry toward the item like moths drawn to the flame.
