So my party is nearly finished the Lost Mine of Phandelver and was curios if more experienced DM's have any advice/warnings on the adventures to a new DM as i was thinking of mayb running
Dungeons of Drakkenheim
Icewind Dale ROtFM
Curse of Strahd
Out of the Abyss (yes i know it has a bit too many NPC's to keep track of and the odd plot point of asking the players after escaping the UD to save the denizens of the UD...)
I mixed LMoP and DoIP and just ran the next three modules in line (Storm Lord's Wrath, Sleeping Dragons Lie, and Divine Contention) with no issues.

Waterdeep Dragon Heist
I ran Curse of Strahd last year and loved it, fantastic campaign and really atmospheric. If you’re thinking of continuing with the same characters from Lost Mines it shouldn’t be too hard, just use the suggested plot hooks to get them to Barovia and skip the Death House and they won’t be too many levels off where the campaign expects you to be
I’m running Dungeons of Drakkenheim at the moment for my teen group and it’s going really well. The setting is great, the various locations and factions really well thought through and there’s great suggestions for characters to each have a personal quest that really helps you build a campaign around the players and their back stories. If you do run it though I’d suggest starting again with new characters as Lost Mines wont flow into it very naturally
I also run Waterdeep Dragon Heist, funnily enough immediately after Lost Mines, and it’s a nice little McGuffin hunt story. All being in one city gives it a nice sense of place (with not too much lore to remember) and the choice from four villains allows you to really choose the version you want to run. I used the Drow crime lord villain and just had the Black Spider be one of his men and the two campaigns fitted together really well
I'd say the easiest option is just go straight into Phandelver and Below, just to keep the story running easier.

Pokemon Master, Hero of Hyrule, Jedi Knight, Minecrafter, Celestial Being Beyond Comprehension, Bounty Hunter, Salmon Runner, Nailmaster, Yarn Yoshi Enjoyer, Animal Lover, Math Rock Roller, Nerd King in all Aspects.
(And, of course, Dragon Tamer. It is in the name, after all)
Phandelver and Below is ok but the two halves don’t really fit together very well in terms of either story or tone so if you do run it you need to do a fair bit of home brew and start seeding things a lot earlier than the book suggests. Especially if you’ve already had enough of the region it’s easier to just start something new

eh, not the biggest fan of DoISP as it takes place in the same location and the videogamey mission board to get quests is a lil dull tbh

eh, I'm done with Phandelver after this session, prefer to move onto diff setting and heard nothing but negatives about Phandelver and Below
