Absolutely use https://watabou.itch.io/medieval-fantasy-city-generator. Configure the settings til they loosely describe what you're looking for and then use the Warp tool to fine grain edit it. I don't use their label editor as it gets cluttered on the big ones, but I take note and add my own labels to customize the city how I imagined it. Their labeling is a little lackluster so I add Govt. buildings, garrisons, different residential areas of varying affluence, etc..
looking for a good way of either drawing up or generating a map for small, medium touwns or even cities.
wanted to know what other people do when they need to make up a town or city.
