Hello, I am not sure if this is the place to post this but I have started on the journey of creating an entire world from scratch. I would like to gather a group of like minded creators and storytellers to bring this world to life. Now as this world is being created I am also looking for dm's that would be willing to help play test and create scenario's that we could use. From this point any form of help would be most appreciated. I am currently finishing a discord server to help keep this project of mine in a place that can be centralized. If you are interested please comment below and I will start to get this all going.
I will also mention I have currently 18 pages full of content that is just skimming the surface of the project. I have 1 of the 4 continents drawn out somewhat and could use help for finishing it. So this project has a great start, I just really need more help.
Discord has great functions as a chat gaming method, but as a world building tool not so much. I use WorldAnvil to draft my campaigns, even when they are not homebrews, so that the players can at their option read all about the marvelous lore I have crafted. That said, remember the only person that is likely as interested as the lore you craft is your own reflection. Moreover, the more world you spin the less room you have for player character's to exist in. They have a nasty habit of upsetting the apple cart as it were, do you want them disrupting Lost Burgundy's political system?
My main goal is thus to make a world that players can have campaigns in much like Critical roles tal dorea module. But the discord server is just the hub to share ideas, content, etc in a localized place.
As to playtesting encounters, use the tools provided: Koboldfightclub, and even the new in beta encounter builder for DnDBeyond to manage your encounters until you get a better eye for how to build them on the fly. Hint: Dice are only useful for the sounds they make. There are likewise dozens of trap and scenarios on the net you can steal, repurpose and reskin to populate your game.
May or may not be able to help you, but if you wanna shoot me a DM with some info about what you're working on feel free! I don't tend to join random Discord servers though, as a disclaimer.
