My party finished last week defeating the Iron Consul and Fist of Bane in the room with the tortured prisoner and animated armor. It ran late so we stopped as soon as they killed the two and the armor is yet to be triggered.
The party is almost completely spent. I am almost certain they will try to take a long rest. I know trying to guess what your party will do is almost an exercise in futility but... if the leave the dungeon and go back later, that could be a mess at the bathouse. OTOH, if they try to rest in the dungeon, what are the chances of being discovered?
I’m looking for advice and other possibilities which might come up. The next game is in 17 hours
Ultimately, after they deliberated forever, they decided to stay in the dungeon in the Mrykal room standing watch by looking through the peephole. I had a couple of pairs walk by through the East door around the break of morning (coming back after a long night of murder and mayhem) but I did not have them get discovered. So I will add those extras in when the party gets to the sleeping quarters.
That dungeon is already a tough one to go through as level 2 PCs. I'd crank up the tension, make it feel like they're almost discovered. Unless they do something stupid, I'd let them rest.
