The DMG has some suggested damage values somewhere if you want to do something different. I’m not sure if I’m thinking of trap damage or something else, and I’m not in a position to look, but there’s something somewhere.

The suggested damage values depend on the level of the PCs and the degree of problem the damage is supposed to be (it's both in trap damage and chapter 8: improvising damage) rather than any particular characteristics of the object.

Odd question, but....
If a character had a strong enough spell to lift a tarrasque and throw it into another creature of similar size, how do you calculate the damage?
RAW? It’s a d4.
