Hello, relatively new DM here, I'm planing to introduce some of Matt Mercers vestiges of divergence into my game (not soon as they are all relatively low level). and I felt compelled to do one of my own. I would really appreciate some feedback and maybe some name suggestions too
Scythe (for me a scythe is a 1d10 slashing weapon with reach two-handed and finesse properties) requires attunement.
Dormant -+1 to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon -When you hit with this weapon you may choose to do an additional 3d6 necrotic damage. The wielder also takes this damage, this damage cannot be reduced with resistances or immunities.
Awakened -+2 to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon -The wielder may cast fly on themselves once per short rest (no concentration) -The wielder now gains resistance to the necrotic damage dealt by the weapon.
Exalted -+3 to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon -dealing the 3d6 additional damage no longer affects the user -If the wielder is brought to 0 hit points by another creature they become immune to damage until the end of their next turn. If the wielder kills the creature that reduced them to 0 hp the wielder gains (5 x con modifier) hp and is conscious. The wielder cannot be healed during this state of undeath and falls unconscious with 0 hp if the target is not slain by them. This can happen once per long rest.
I would definitely get rid of the Finesse on the scythe. That's definitely not something that relies on precision to hit with, but rather a chopping action. It also breaks from the usual boundaries of how finesse weapons work. Its a flat-out upgrade to the rapier for rogues, for instance, giving you Reach AND better damage. What's stopping someone from copying the form and just using it as a superior weapon without magic? As it is, you're making it better than the glaive as a weapon. I don't recommend it.
Perhaps I mispoke on the 3d6 damage overcoming immunities on the target those still count and the damage can be reduced by them I was stating that the damage to the wielder cannot be reduced, also in regards to your note on the max damage being 1d6 extra +3 on exalted weapons this is not the case (I'm referring to the pyremaul 3d6 fire damage) also in Regards to the abilities not being related i believe this reflects the abilities of a Lich being able to fly and ignore death in some situations, your notes on the finesse are helpful and I appriciate the constructive criticism.

A lich can fly because it's an 18th-level wizard. It casts fly on itself.
