Does anyone know of a set of tiles that can accompany the D&D tiles that might have a more abundant count of generic tiles? The D&D sets are nice, but it'd be great just have some more generic tiles to fill things out (as opposed to just buying additional copies of the same set).
I can empathize with you here. I started out with those standard issue WotC collections and immediately wanted to expand my supply of tiles and maps.
I would check out Paizo's Pathfinder and GameMastery Map Packs and Flip-Mats. There's a relatively huge selection. Just a heads up: these aren't tiles in the same sense that the standard issue D&D map tiles are (the thicker cardboard). The map packs are printed on durable photo paper (think glossy cardstock) which are rearrangeable to achieve varying layouts. The flip-mats are available in standard and "bigger" sizes, but both are relatively big when laid out. I use wet-erase with those guys when needed.
One more footnote on these: I was able to find a good selection of these at my FLGS with slightly reduced pricetags...and it's always kinda nice to support your local nerd stop.
