I'm looking into buying a digital map pack, but they all seem to have standard (table) sized digital maps. I want to be able to drop a map that is bigger than the range of a longbow. Ideally something 150x150 squares or larger that would each provide a different wilderness terrain option. Does anyone have some suggestions?
In practice using a tactical map larger than around 30x30 means you just have a whole bunch of unused space on your map because people don't move that far over the course of a battle.
When I am DM they need to run one way or another to deal with Archers wielding longbows. Even at disadvantage an archer can be a serious problem while taking shots from far far away. Add in the ability to shoot and still move, and things can get ugly.
My players recently made the "mistake" of saying they wanted to play in a survival campaign. Time to see if they can survive encounters built within the XP per day rules.

Nothing wrong with long range combat, other than it making some characters feel useless, but I wouldn't do it on a battle map with squares.

I use Dungeon Alchemist to build maps. You can make them very very large. I played with Arkenforge for a bit and youc there as well.

Thank you both for the recommendations.
