I need some help in building an encounter for a Level 4 party. I have a player with flight and thought harpies would give them a challenge. I’m well aware of the harpies capabilities but I wanted a monster that the harpies would lead them to with their luring song to its lair - I just don’t know what???
Can you give me any ideas please? What monster would go well? I have set the scene in forest.

A Banderhobb swallowed one of the Harpies while they dined on a fine feast of a dead large animal they had previously lured to their lair. Panicked, they scouted the area for some way to fight off the banderhobb, but the darn thing decided their old castle ruins (or whatever) was just fine and dandy and it would stay.
THey hope to lure the part into a conflict with the banderhobb so that it will spit up their missing harpy member, and then they will go after the party (or pick off those in the back if it looks like they are winning against the banderhobb).

How many players?
I have 5 players all Level 4
2 chimera on the ground 4 harpies in the air.
2 harpies should be fighting the aerial player.
That leaves 2 to harry the other players (annoy them by swooping down to attack and fly off), and the two chimera should be enough of a threat (each gets 3 attacks for a total of 6 attacks to the character's 4). If it starts looking a little rough for the characters straight on, the harpies can fly off, (or back) as needed.
Just keep it so they can also always escape. Also, the monster can back up for a fire breath, giving the PC's aoe's. Players love remo ding DM's about aoe's...

Sorry. Trying to cook dinner.
1 chimera. 4 harpies. My math was off.
The harpies have a habit.of leading prey to the chimera to have it finish it off. Then they eat the carrion.
