I'm a relatively new DM and I've been working my way through Lost Mine of Phandelver (not Shattered Obelisk) with the intent to eventually transition towards Tyranny of Dragons as a longer running campaign. Was kind of hoping to see if the new release of Tyranny is worth buying given I've heard there are a number of issues with the module itself in regard to its difficulty and it having plot holes. Was it fixed? Is it in a much better state than its original release? I really want to run Tyranny considering it sounds like such a cool module but I'm worried about wasting my money on the re-release if it doesn't fix most, if not all, of the main issues people have had with the module from its original conception.
I personally have not looked through Tyranny of Dragons. But I have played the two separate books. We are nearing the end of Rise of Tiamat. I like the story but feel the execution sucked. I doubt the Tyranny fixed anything but I could be wrong. I will have to find it and let you know.
I however am more than happy to impart what I did to the campaign and what I wish I had done to the game from the beginning. If you decide to get it and would like pointers. Ask away.
