Greetings all! I have been trying to use the 2024 books for my campaigns. I find some things lacking. Random hoard treasure tables one of them. I pieces this together from the 2024 DMG, pages 121, 218, and 326. Hope you find it useful.
1.) I would include other random gems/art objects/etc. beyond just gold pieces.
2.) There should be varieties of magic item types and levels. Not every item in the tier 4 magic item hoard should be very rare to legendary just like no items in the tier 1 should be higher than common or maybe some uncommon.
Thanks for the feed back. Like I said, i just copy and pasted out of the 2024 DMG into excel (didn't copy well here) to have most of the information on one page verse three. the 2014 DMG (IMO) has a much easier to use hoard loot section. With early release of the MM tomorrow may update this with random items or I my just book mark the DMG in chapter 7. Will need to play more to see what works. My goal with this sheet was to be able to print a half a page in landscape with the needed data, as that was the blank space on my DM screen.
Since posting this, i have updated the Magic Item Type table to include the associated classes from the "Magic Items for Starting Characters" "Random Determination:" if i want to fudge a roll to a class. This is in Chapter 7, sorry dont have a page number.
One thing I noticed while trying to build out a CR 11 treasure horde is that there is actually a misprint on that table in the 2024 DMG. The calculation for CR 11-16 should be 8d8 x 1,000 GP and not 10,000 GP (you can tell from the avg gold listed and the insane jump from CR 5-10 to CR 11-16).
