Over assorted campaigns, I have implemented teleportation devices (blend of technology and magic), lasers, non-spelljammer spacetravel, and my favorite implementation yet: mechs.
I have yet to have a player complain about them, and when it came to the lasers and the mechs, they were pretty thrilled.
Typically, I either have the players find such articles in an abandoned and mysterious ruin built centuries ago by the <insert whatever clever fantasy-esque term for aliens> ("children of the stars" is a good one) or in a bustling metropolis known to have advanced research and development going on in the artificer community.
My players really seem to enjoy science fiction elements in the story, but the campaigns I run aren’t the traditional D&D “kill the evil wizard/clear the dungeon” type. As noted in a previous post, some players may not enjoy it because they feel it’s outside the purview of the game and/or breaks immersion. The players I have are mostly a mix of newcomers (who may have no idea such things aren’t present in the official lore), and others experienced in other systems (who may be very accustomed to guns, computers, spaceships in RP). The few that are well versed in D&D seem to be split.
tl;dr In my personal experience, younger and newer players are down for whatevs. Older or more experienced players may have a more narrow view of how the game should be. Talk to your players!

So, I can appreciate the discussion about sci-fi in fantasy stories. This IS a forum after all.
But I really wanted to know y’all’s personal experiences with it.
