I was wondering what app or site or anything else you might use for sound? Maybe setting the scene for some background tavern noise of laughter and dice rolling and cups clinking, or spooky music and creeky boards and wind and skittering for when in a creepy manor, or water dripping and rodents squeeking in a cave or sewer, or the hustle and bustle of a city street?
Also other sounds. I'll be doing Waterdeep Dragon Heist and (spoilers?) at one point there is an explosion. I would love to shock my party as they sit at the table chatting about what to do that day with a sudden massive explosion sound from my tablet that will make them all jump!
Syrinscape looks like one of those apps that would be immensely functional and customizeable if I ever just took the time to get handy with it.
(I use 10-minute themed sound loops from my friend and Emmy-award nominated sound producer Wes Otis of Plate Mail Games) his hundreds of tracks are cheap to buy individually and even cheaper when bought as a bundle. Take a look.)

It really is. If you're willing to put in a bit of money you can buy full soundsets that are easy to use and sound great, and if you spend some time with the toolset you can make custom sets. It's a somewhat awkward online tool to do the customization, and it took some getting used to but it's pretty great. Especially if you find a soundset that is mostly what you want, but you also want to add in something extra, or combine it with another soundset.
I fiddled around with D&D music youtube playlists, D&D spotify playlists (found via reddit), but I recently tried out Syrinscape and it's worlds better. Can't recommend it enough.
For a really cool free option, give Tabletop Audio a try. I use it a fair bit for ambient background audio. Of course, we all oughta consider dropping some coin in the Patreon bucket for services as amazing as Tabletop Audio that provide their services at no cost and ad-free. : )
I really loved Syrinscape but couldn't afford to keep up my subscription. There are only so many books, subscriptions, supplies, etc. that a guy can pay for to support a D&D addiction. : )

Well for $25 I would DEFINITELY recommend Arkenforge's soundscape function because you get the master essentials kit for map building as well... that said, unfortunately they don't have a purchase option for JUST the Soundscape capability so I think I'll be going with Tabletop Audio after all. I'd be willing to buy the Soundscape Function on Arkenforge if it were sold separately though because my group prefers 'theatre of the mind' over having battle maps. battle maps just feel more like a board game for them and oddly less immersive. I can't get behind Syrinscape because I'm not a fan of the subscription pricing. Feels too high since I could get exactly what I want and need for $25 on Arkenforge with mapbuilding capability. If you haven't checked out Arkenforge it has a 7 day free trial though.
We play over discord so with a second account I just play music from another pc I had sitting in storage using voicemeeter. From there just downloading free sounds and playing them during our sessions.
Honestly? Youtube, has a fantastic Audio Library. If you have a creating account, go to Studio and find it under Audio Library.
I've also have worked theatre and have loads of sound library CDs. These days you can buy them on the likes of Amazon. Pretty standard fare but they work well.
I also back that up with musci from Filmmusic.io which has loads of royalty free and paid for music options.
Pocket Bard is another good one, has its own Discord, and is putting out new things fairly regularly: Pocket Bard

I've created a user friendly soundboard browser app because I wasn't happy with the options out there. Feel free to have a look here :) https://sfeer.app In my group we use it every week.

I cannot recommend Syrinscape enough.

Master's Toolkit has a cool soundscape builder. https://arkenforge.com/product/the-masters-toolkit-public-alpha/
It does more than just sounds though so it might be overkill for your needs.

Syrinscape.
By far and away the best system I’ve tried.
I'm changing my vote to Syrinscape as well. I tried out battle bards when it came out but it seems stale, so I've recently switched to Syrinscape.

Another interesting (and free) site with music and sounds for immersive RPG games: Syrinscape
I use Spotify and just create custom playlists for different settings or moods. Works really well and has a huge selection of stuff.

Are there any options with TableTopy to download the individual sounds? My group utilizes Roll20 for everything and I can upload audio there.

Lots of people love Syrinscape, but their app.... needs a lot of work. The web UI is great though, but you asked for an app, not website.
Like you, I prefer to use something more native and well designed, and that's why I built Summoning Stone.
