Hi there! Coming up in my next sesh or two one of my PCs will be sucked into a Efreeti Bottle or Djinn lamp and come back out morphed from a human to a Genasi. The PC is not full changed into an Efreeti or Djinn as the process is going to be interrupted but I'd also like to give them a unique magic items as this player is joining late and the others already have a magic item each. The PCs are level 6. Any ideas?
A nice “_______ of Controlling ______ Elementals” that matches his genasi type seems fitting. By the way, what’s the class? What will be useful to them?
I also picture genies as wearing large, prominent jewelry, so maybe a Ring of Resistance, or of Shooting Stars. Or a Necklace of Fireballs. Or Bracers of Defense.
As a fan of Wild Magic surges, a Wand of Wonder is always fun, and thematically seems right for an interrupted transformation process. Maybe reskin it as an amulet or ring if, like me, you don’t associate genies with wands.
Oh a Rod of Wonder sounds fun, I had one in a old campaign I was a PC in and had lots of fun with it.
As for class I think he wants to go Eldritch Knight, but I did hear the rest of the party suggest to him that he try something with a wider range of available spells since the party currently consists of 3 melee focus PCs and a Grave Cleric. That being said the party won't force him to play something he doesn't want and he'll likely still go with Eldritch Knight.
I know you said the PC was planning on going eldritch knight, but you could also give them an extra thematic feat as part of the transformation (maybe sorcerer magic initiate or elemental adept?) along with an item or two. That would also be something forever tied to the character that they wouldn’t have to worry about losing and gives some bonuses to ranged spellcasting.

Ever try a Robe of Useful Items?

Also, if he’s going to be a Warlock, did you see the new UA playtest material that dropped today? https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/subclasses1. He could get a Genie as his patron. You could go all out with this.

Reskin the wand of wonder as a pair of bracers which would represent the shackles the genie wore binding him to the lamp!
