Update: The player left the group chat system we use (and I don't know them personally), but the weird thing is most of the other players aren't even remotely perturbed by this. One of them (a player whos friends with the player who quit beyond the group) is already scouting a new player, the players wife apparently still wants to come as long as she can find a baby sitter, and one of them isn't bothered at all and apparently finds it weird that I feel bad that the other player quit.
I figured I'd talk out a solution with the players but it seems they are all unconcerned, which is weird to me.
It's natural to feel bad when a player is no longer part of the group, but it really does sound like he just wasn't a good fit for your table and the rest of the group felt it too. If you want to ask the rest of the table how they want to proceed, by all means go ahead, but aside from a couple loose ends (whether you want a new player and what arrangements the wife will need in order to keep attending) it sounds like everyone's ready to move on and continue the campaign.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be argumentative either. Just sounds that way online -_-
Good luck figuring it out with your player. Hopefully it works out!
