This is my first time running in Eberron and wanted a bit of help or some suggestions with a PC backstory. Though I really like the background, I'm not sure how possible it is within Eberron as written.
He's written that he was a gifted mechanic of house Cannith born with the mark of creation on his right eye. He served in the last war and was on the outskirts of Cyre, just close enough to be enveloped by the mists. He saw horrors within but the strange magic warped his body. He became were touched, a shifter and his mark of creation was lost.
He's playing a shifter artificer, and though I realise shifter is a race unto itself, I like the idea of the corrupting influence having an effect like this and was thinking of the idea of having an aberrant mark show up in its place.
How would you approach this with the player? Or would you suggest any changes?
So the PC is a Shifter? But backstory-wise was born a Human, Mark of Creation? And the player isn’t trying to keep the Mark for game play, it’s just backstory. I mean, the Mists of the Mournland is like a giant cloud of Wild Magic. I’d say anything is possible. Especially in your own game. The aberrant mark sounds like a fun “yes, and...” Do the other players have such fun set-ups for their characters?
