As a new DM I've hated having to stop mid battle to go through the rulebook to find something that I should know. I'm quite familiar with the rules and mechanics of the game, but fail to recall this information when I need it, so I condensed portions of the "D&D Basic Rules" (free as a PDF) into 2 guides and 1 reference for combat and adventuring to help new DMs and Players as they go. I quoted most of these verbatim, to be as accurate as possible, but omitted anything that wasn't necessary strictly to getting the information across. I also wrote up a reference of my own to help give new players an idea of the kinds of questions to ask to help them get the most out of their game. I hope that you can use this as much as I know that I'm going to lol. I hope to add more soon. If you have any guides or references, please leave them below for others! Thanks!
The guides and references plus the amount of pages are as follows:
Don't be afraid of letting a player who may have more knowledge help you
I have hundreds of hours DM'ing in AD&D 2nd Edition. And it got to the point where my DMG never go touched. This is all a matter of repetition.
I started gaming again after 24 years and 5e is significantly different. One of my players is super knowledgeable about the rules. And he helps me out a lot during a game.
