I'm creating a creature whose main genre of abilities is based in deception. She is one of three top-ranking servants of the trickster goddess, called the Muse of Deception (Or Sevthos to her friends). She is the main source of temptation in my world, along with her partners the Muse of Intimidation and the Muse of Persuasion.
I'm not worried about balance right now, just trying to get ideas for what abilities or traits she might have. I'm picturing her as being nearly impossible to hit, but not for AC reasons. So far I have:
Traits: False Tongue - Sevthos has advantage on Charisma (Deception) checks, and magical attempts to discern lies always report that her words are true. Feint Attack - Sevthos does an extra X (Xd6) damage if it hits a target while its clones are active, where X is equal to the number of active clones. Magic Resistance - Sevthos has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. Spellcasting - Sevthos is a 10th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 20, +12 to hit with spell attacks). Sevthos has the following wizard spells prepared: Cantrips (at will): minor illusion 1st level (4 slots): color spray, silent image, disguise self 2nd level (3 slots): phantasmal force, shadow blade, silence 3rd level (3 slots): hypnotic pattern, major image 4th level (3 slots): greater invisibility, phantasmal killer 5th level (2 slots): dream, mislead 6th level (1 slot): mental prison
Actions: Create Clones - Sevthos creates [[3d4]] clones. These clones are perfect illusory copies of Sevthos, and are corporeal. When making an attack against Sevthos, roll a die equal to the number of clones. On a 1, the attack is made against the real Sevthos. Otherwise, the attack hits a clone. Each clone has an AC equal to 17. Their HP is equal to 14. Shadow Blade - Attack: +12, 2d8+7 psychic damage Reactions: Body Swap - If Sevthos' true body is attacked while it has one or more clones active, Sevthos may trade places with a clone before damage is dealt. Legendary Actions: Create Clones - Sevthos creates 1d3 clones. Shadow Blade - Sevthos makes a melee attack using her shadow blade.
I'm using roll20 so I can roll weird dice like a 13 sided die, which is useful for the number of clones damage addition. I've made her around CR 15 with her Ability Scores and HP and AC. Damage per round is highly volitle and depends on a ton of variables. Any ideas the community has for making an illusion based almost-god NPC would be absolutely wonderful. Any ideas on persuasion/intimidation creature traits would also be wild. Thanks everyone!
