Is there a way to allow for multiple choices for 1 racial trait when designing a homebrew race?
for background, it's a forgeborn race, with a modular design trait. There are 6 different modules, and a player selects any combination of 2 of them at character creation.
am I just going to have to create redundant racial traits with the same options to accomplish this? Thanks for any help.
It depends on the trait components. For example you can put multiple spells in a single "Spell" component of the trait to create a choice. I'm not sure what other ways you can do that.
I recently created a race for my campaign that had this racial trait:
Hunter's Lore
You gain proficiency with two of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Nature, Perception, Stealth, and Survival.
So I had to make it an option to pick two out of the 5 options. Unfortunately, the only way I was able to accomplish this was to create a duplicate Racial Trait "Hunter's Lore 1" and "Hunter's Lore 2" and hope my players are smart enough to not select Perception on both of them. It's not as clean as I wanted, but it works. D&D Beyond needs to have a field that asks how many choices they get out of the 5 options.

I believe I can help you simplify this. :)
There is a section in the basic information of each feature that becomes available if you make an "Option", which is "Character levels where options known". If you want to grant multiple choices from the options you have built in, you just need to add additional numbers to this section based on what level it is granted at. For example, in this case it sounds like you want two options at level 1. So you would enter: 1,1 into that field.
@melllieDM - any way to force all options to be visible? Right now it's only showing 2 out of the 5 I have created.
Hello! I'd recommend starting a new thread with some more information on what you're facing an issue with, and a link to your unpublished homebrew for myself or another moderator to help you out with. Thanks YevP!

Not yet, I think, but it should be on the list.
