For some time now, I had the idea of creating a community Discord server where all participants could actively contribute to creating homebrew content for D&D 5e. Initially, the server was intended to be small and in German, gradually expanding its reach and forming a small but fine community. Unfortunately, the previous interested individuals have been participating less, and some others have little time which made me change my plans. Therefore, I am looking for people who are "actively" involved (not necessarily daily, a few hours weekly are completely sufficient) and enjoy creating homebrew content, whether alone or in collaboration. So, my main goal for the "Brewmunity", as it is called, is to recruit semi-active people who enjoy working on projects and potentially building a small community together, providing a place where people can use our content, share their own and work together on content. Therefore, the server is not only suitable for individuals who, as mentioned earlier, want to work on projects together but also for those who simply want to read and test drafts (testers and interested parties are always welcome!) or create their own content and share it (perhaps because they already create monsters/battlemaps, etc., in their campaign as a DM?).
Anyway, that's the direction we want to go in. But enough about the concept. First, here's a brief overview of projects currently in progress:
Various types of homebrew content, mainly classes and subclasses at the moment, but the server will not be limited to just that. Battlemaps, magic items, spells, etc., are also being developed or gladly accepted. (Currently, I'm actively working on a class called "Reaper." In short, a part of the soul is corrupted because the class had contact with a powerful spiritual being in the past (insert backstory here), gaining some of the spirit's abilities. Subclasses include Soul of the Wraith, Soul of the Shinigami, Soul of the Oni, and Soul of the Specter.)
DnDive, a program being developed by a friend (currently paused due to personal circumstances). This program is intended to be a multi-tool, ranging from a virtual tabletop to a notebook for DM or player notes, an integrated music player, a wiki for official D&D rules, and more.
What we are primarily looking for:
Active content creators or at least an interest in participating in the process
Testers for playtests, whether organized by us or private
Testers to read drafts and provide objective/personal opinions
Technicians for bots/programming for potential participation in projects like DnDive
People who enjoy sharing their own content
People who want to consume the content
People who like to organize groups and projects
People who like managing Discord servers
While it is not planned for all of this to become commercial, I would not rule out that possibility if the opportunity arises in the distant future to potentially profit from it as a third-party content creator. However, as I mentioned, it is not an intention or goal. Primarily, it remains a hobby!
So, enough talking. Are you interested? Feel free to contact me! Discord: cloudy_weather
I’m interested, but I can’t find that user name. Do you have a server invite?
