WOTC has confirmed that they'll never release a strictly Psionic-based class, instead choosing to slowly release (nonexistent) psionic subclasses overtime.
I'm making a campaign utilizing Psionics, ya know, Mindflayers, Aboleths, etc., and thought it would be cool idea to have some version of psionics for characters. So I started rubbing my last two braincells together to come up with unique abilities they could be cursed with or something, and the more I made the more it looked like a Class in piecemeal form.
So, I stuck em all together and it ended up pretty great. In the end, after much abusecritique from some communities and "friends", I ended up with a single non-caster Psion Class and 6 Subclasses.
To make it short and sweet: You get some cool psionic abilities as the base class, like using swords n shiz with telekinesis, or talking at birds or whatever with telepathy, but you also gain some 23 unique Psionic abilities called Talents (essentially "cantrips" that can be "upcasted" with Psi Points). Each subclass fills a niche and sticks to it pretty hard, and each has at least 1 role to fill. The subclasses are:
Bionic: The tank. Grants itself and others TempHP (to make up for the Psion's 1d6 HD) and Overloads the temp hp so it EXPLODES when it's depleted. Can also use GREATSWORDS with Telekinesis later on.
Effigic: The melee-damage burster. Puts its mind into weapons to make em into effigies. Effigies count as creatures with temp hp and bonuses to combat and can grant bonus attacks to allies that use them to fight. The Effigic boi puts reflective barriers on his effigies and intercepts attacks, slappin the baddie back with half the damage they dealt.
Entropic: Battlefield Manipulation. WE'RE COOKIN WITH PORTALS BABY! Spam them portals all over the place to suck in enemies or allies and shoot em out wherever. Also gets to control space and time some but that's like, whatever. PORTALS!!! Also, this class is the only way I've ever conceived of that can gain ADVANTAGE using a net.
Psychic: The buffer. Has like 1 offensive ability that deals 1d4. But damn the support is crazy good. You grant advantage to an ally (or 4) and if they succeed on whateverthehell, you Jinx a creature for each person that has succeeded, giving them a stacking -1 to their next whatever from the Jinx. Kinda heals a little later on, but augments healing received by others. Also all the woo-woo future telling Augury-like stuff.
Telepathic: Crowd Control. Gets to lock down enemies with their mind, and can explode people's heads. Yes, PF2e's Mind Bomb in a 5e subclass, and it works great. Gets an ability like Suggestion but you can say "stab urself lol".
Telekinetic: Damage dealer/ less reliable CC. You get to make your allies and enemies FLY. You can sling em around like weapons and slam them into eachother, and eventually get to make a TORNADO out of their bodies.
Would be cool to get this community's abusecritique as well, so check it out and tear me a new one. I like it when you do.
