I am curious and looking for suggestions, ideas, thoughts on slayer/bane weaponry - for the other creature types (Aberration, Beast, Fey, Fiend, Monstrosity, etc) - similar to the dragon, giant, and undead slayer weaponry below:
dragon slayer You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
When you hit a dragon with this weapon, the dragon takes an extra 3d6 damage. For the purpose of this weapon, "dragon" refers to any creature with the dragon type, including dragon turtles and wyverns.
giant slayer You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
When you hit a giant with it, the giant takes an extra 2d6 damage of the weapon's type and must succeed on a DC 15 Strength saving throw or fall prone. For the purpose of this weapon, "giant" refers to any creature with the giant type, including ettins and trolls.
corpse slayer You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
When you hit an undead creature with an attack using this weapon, the attack deals an extra 1d8 damage of the weapon’s type, and the creature has disadvantage on saving throws against effects that turn undead until the start of your next turn.
From my perspective the Dragonslayerdoesn't do anything extra but instead deals more damage. In comparison, the Giant Slayercan knock a creature prone and the Corpse Slayergives disadvantage on Turn Undead effects (which also requires Attunement).
The only weaponry I have direct ideas for are the:
Humanoid Slayer - Rare (No attunement) You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
When you hit a humanoid with this weapon, the humanoid takes an extra 2d8 damage. For the purpose of this weapon, "humanoid" refers to any creature with the humanoid type, including dwarves and elves.
and
Beast Slayer - Rare (No attunement) You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
When you hit a beast with it, the beast takes an extra 2d6 damage, and you have advantage on any Wisdom (Perception) or Wisdom (Survival) check you make to find it. For the purpose of this weapon, "beast" refers to any creature with the beast type, including lions and black bears.
