Allyn listens to the conversation with interest. “So, it is not only that you don’t have any memories, you are not sure this body even belonged to you before.. well, you know before?” He pauses “That is a lot to take in. I can’t imagine how challenging it would be.” He tries to lift the group's spirits “Well, you are among friends now, and if our cause can help regain those memories, so much the better.”
Kane nods with the rest of the group. “Yes, we are here to help.” As they continue to ride the sled, Kane tightens his grip around Tylaerys leans against her a little. He will also try to take her hand if she doesn’t pull it away.
Tylaerys accepts Kanes hand in hers holding it tight trying to share some warmth with the tiefling. This was not at all what she had expected setting out from Silverymoon, the somewhat odd but very kind people in the congregation, and this tiefling holding her hand... Sure she had men courting her before but no one like this mysterious warlock, in some ways so different from her and yet the bond between them grew stronger by the day. Oh, Mystra what did it all mean?
Aster makes themselves small in their shoulders, suddenly overwhelmed by the attention, but something deep inside them flutters slightly. A need for kinship, for family, that makes them smile slightly.
It's too early to call these ones friends, but they are at least nice to have around. They are kind.
"Well... I might take the invitation to talk someday, Quip, but not about me. Just to know you better" They mumble, then look at the rest of the group "You are so kind, so I'll pay it back. I'll help you with whatever you need- if I can"
Kane is secretly overjoyed that Tylaerys took his hand. He really likes her, more so than any other person he has had a crush on. And the best part, she seems to like him too. But…why didn’t she want to talk about her family? We’re they cruel like Kane’s father? Kane gives Tylaerys’ hand a squeeze and smiles at her.
With Quip drumming a light but rather military tune the group glides through much of the day. The path leading down isn't that hard to manœuver.
Has you crest the highest tower the dwarves stop for a second and you can see why. Stretched before you is a dark cloud hanging hover what appears to be a infinite plain of ice. Above the clouds strange lights seem to play catch. A mesmerizing effect of green and violet that dance in the sky.
The path leading into Icewind Dale plunges into the dark clouds.
Mantle waits for Freya as she goes and sends a few prayer toward a lonely and frozen caern.
As the group enter the shadows of the clouds they are strucj by the icy cold water, a must that drenches everything.
Visibility is reduced considerably and the yells of Chess are. The only lead to have to follow.
As you enter a large valley drums begin to hammer a military song. For a second you all think that Quip as begun a new tune but something is amiss. Somehow this one is far more threatening.
Almarath: Nose buried in his tome of lore, Almarath looks up from the pages at the spectacle of lights in the sky. He fumbles with stowing his book in his pack, mesmerized by the dancing lights. Long he wonders at the beauty and thanks Oghma for leading him to this marvel of nature.
Curiosity turns quickly to dread at the drum beats echo in the old man ears. He reflexively calls out to Poly, ordering him into the weather and toward the sound of the drums, reporting back whatever he sees.

Aster pays little to no attention to the lights, eyes closed as they focus on the music and the thoughts that whirl around in their head
As the tune changes, they open their eyes and frown, pushing themselves to turn in the direction of the sound. Not that they can see anything- it's too dark for them to make anything out.
"Something's wrong" they mumble, preparing themselves to a fight

At first Tylaerys admires the northern lights but as the drums sounds she tightens her grip of her staff and Kanes hand. "Be wary, this will likely be the kobolds we were warned about." She says to the others trying to spot any threats as they go along. Perception:17
The sleds move down into the valley and are now under the dark clouds as the drums pick up the pace and the sound gets louder.
Tylaerys can see a lone kobold standing to the east and high into the mountain crest, white and bleu scales clear under the many layers of bobbles and fetishes. He seems to be chanting something into the wind.
Poly, flying under the clouds, can see that a few creatures, bleu scaled kobolds, are playing drums. Next to them are many others weapons at the ready.
For Almarath
There are about 5 drummers to the north and just a few paces away 15 kobolds ready to attack. They are divided into three groups of five.
The dwarves start shouting.
Mantle first can be heard through the howling wind and beating drums.
"Damn, I say we push through" But his words lack conviction. You can hear a bit of fear and trepidation in his voice.
To the east a loud rumbling noise begins to roll, drowning the drums.

Allyn immediately notices the change in beat with the drumming, a move from an upbeat traveling march to something more warlike and ominous. He turns to the east and tries to get a look at what is causing the rumbling sound that is rising, starting to drown out the drums.
Perception: 23
“Everyone, be on your guard”he warns, quite unnecessarily, and plays a quick tune, common for soldiers preparing for battle, to strengthen the party’s resolve, while keeping his eyes alert for danger.
(Provides bardic inspiration to Tylaerys - add 1d6 to one ability roll, attack roll, or saving throw of your choice in next 10 min)
Almarath: The mound of snow says, "There are twenty of them that Poly can see. Five drummers to the north and three groups of five kobolds ready to attack." He stands and readies himself to press forward.
The wizard summons forth a magical barrier of protection as he continues to watch the Kobolds through Poly's eyes.
“I don’t like this…” Kane says as they rush through the snow. He pulls Tylaerys closer for protection….and gives her a kiss on the cheek. “For good luck….I hope.“ He stands beside her and readies Eldritch Blast.
Perhaps it is the fear of the coming battle, perhaps the kiss Kane just gave her, but now Tylaerys sheds a radiant effulgence of light holding her staff in front of her.

Quip senses a mixed mood and strikes up a march rhythm on her drum to help focus on the travel for a while
