Amadi does share what he hears to the others as well as passing on that he sees no one paying them any attention or watching them. "We are alone, and someone within needs healing of some sort. Perhaps beyond my skill, but that is unknown."
Looking over to Sunny "We could pass the house by and if the feeling is still west then we would know it doesn't come from the house. I will join you if you wish to try."
Sunny listens to what Amadi has to say, concern crossing her Tortle face quickly. "We must help, I can't just leave it. You knock, a Tortle arriving unannounced at their door at this time of night is likely to just scare them further." She nods towards the door. "At the very least I'll heal, and we help them finish making the meal. I'm sure a few rations might too be welcome. We shouldn't stay too long though lest we attract too much attention."
Hearing that the house seems safe enough, he nods to Sunny, “Yes this is an area for-a the very poor-a. Sylvio knows the people here are-a needy.”
He then approaches the door and knocks, “Excus-a! We are-a here to help-a.” He speaks respectfully and with a calm demeanor, not wanting to frighten anyone inside. “My name is-a Sylvio and-a we come with-a cleric to talk with-a you and ask some-a questions about-a your recent loss-a. We can-a also offer aide if-a anyone needs it-a.”
Sunny gives a sad smile to Sylvio. "The suffering is great here. I know we can be of most help on our current quest, but there it is heartbreaking." Then looks up watching to see if anyone answers.
Inside of the shack, men and women exchange a worried look. They were just talking about seeking help of clerics in a temple, he had just hurt himself with the kitchen knife and then a group of strangers knock at their door offering healing? And what did they mean with their loss? Were they talking about Sammy? There was doubt on the silence. What should they do?
“I’m going to send they off.” Says the man in a hushed voice that does not escape Amadi’s ears. Nor Sunny’s or Chewy, for that matter.
“No.” Answers the woman. “If they wanted to do something bad, they would have come later, when mostly everyone would be asleep.” The man sighs, knowing full well that his wife was right, but then what the chances? It’s not things were going well since he found the boy dead. Their boy. “It shouldn’t hurt to talk with them and if anything wrong happens and Emma will tell the whole neighborhood no later than tomorrow. That old hag is always watching.”
“Fine, fine.” He says putting away the knife and moving to the door. He opens it sucking the wound in his index. The vision of the unusual quintet, a tortle, an elf, two men that looked to be human a genasi and a dog caught him off-guard. “You are a strange bunch.”
The man is tall and large. His face is broad, his hair is black and slicked back. The nose is flattened in a way that suggest it was broken more than once and a scar crosses his chin. His clothes are mostly a rough, grey fabric and over his shoulders and old fur small cape.
“Said you had questions?” He asks the party.

@Paladin and @Jynne, given their passive perceptions your characters hear the entire conversation inside the shack. @Everyone, what would your character do?
Sunny glances about at other windows casually trying to catch a view of 'Emma' as a future information source. "I know it's not customary, but might we come in? There are odd things about out there and we intend to be brief. I can look at that hand and finish up the cooking while we speak, we could use your help? Your friend has already seen us and is sure to call help if we're in too long." Then hesitating briefly. "I am, uh, sorry for your loss. We aim to show this by seeking the thing out and ending it." Then pointing at some healing scars on her torso "It was fortunate to get away the first time it attacked me, it won't do so again." She tries to speak firmly and confidently not trying to intimidate but reassuring attempting to instill in them the idea that they may be able to do what she says.
The comment about Emma seeing them is very likely a bluff but another aim at reassurance. If given the opportunity Sunny will use healing feat on the gentleman's hand (Healing 1d6+4+their HD)
The man finds it strange how firm but above all else polite the tortle sounds. Speaking of customs, asking for permission. Folk around the Field Wards are not like that. Most of the times they are rough, loud, impulsive. Acting first and asking if they could act after, when asking at all. He decided he liked it better that way, being treated with respect for once. Sunny decidedly causes a good impression on him. His eyes widen when she shows her scars.
“Nine Hells! What happened to you?” As the man asks his question he glances at the rest of the party, as if looking for wounds on them too. “To all of you?”
She said she was attacked, right? But by who? Or what? He closes the door behind his back, visibly unsettled by the situation. Amadi, Sunny and Gabriel are capable to decipher that man is afraid of some mad beast being loose around the streets. From a certain point of view, he was not wrong.
“Look,” He starts trying to sound as good willingly as he can. His voice is rough and strong. The five of you could easily imagine his shouts overcoming the noise of places as crowded as a market. “My wife is not feeling too well since, well, our loss. So, unless your cleric can cure sickness I would prefer if we let her rest. And what friend?” Then it hit him - old Emma. The strangers probably saw her looking at other people's lives. “The gossip hag.” It was probably from her that they heard about Sammy. “Also, what thing are you seeking?

Sunny hesitates at the reference to her as a cleric. "While it is true that Selune blesses me with some skill with healing, I do not deserve the title of Cleric. I am a simple Ranger with some of skills of a Druid. I am a physician by training and study of the proper sort, that is I do not pretend to have skills I do not. Illness I may not be able to cure but perhaps I could give some guidance? Please, might we come in? We have more to say but not out here? I truly feel that it is of benefit to us both that we speak?" Then glancing at the still cooking stove. "At the very least I could save those potatoes from burning? You BOTH could use a moment of rest."

Amadi Investigation 18
"Unfortunately the ability to heal sickness is beyond my ability good sir, but you may use my name at the temple of Gond to seek your service there if you so wish. My name is Amadi Shadeflame. We can heal some of your other injuries. We would prefer to discuss this further within though as this is a serious matter." Amadi says.
You all notice that the man is feeling rather uncomfortable with so many strangers asking to enter his home, but that this feeling is calmed when Amadi gives his name and specially when Gabriel mentions the Apothecary's Guild. They are a famous and rich organization whose guild hall was also an emergency hospital. The indication of a guild member could be the only way for the man to have his wife examined there.
“I’m trying to get help at the Spires of the Morning, but can’t hurt to look at the House of Inspired Hands.” Amadi recognizes the name immediately - the wathedevian temple dedicated to the Wonderbringer. The fact that this simple man knows and uses its correct names can only mean he is respectful of the gods. Maybe even pious toward one of them. That and he is familiar with the Sea Ward. “Fine, you can enter, but I’m just waiting for the finish end cooking so there’s nothing to help on this part. Unless you can make the fire cook faster.” He says opening the door of the shackle. “Can you?” The question has a tone of genuine curiosity.
As you enter the shackle there is not much to see. A mostly empty room with a dor at the back and a single window. At the center, a rustic wood table with some brown bread and a bow with fish entrails - the fish the man said was cooking, you recon. Sitting by it is a ginger woman with green eyes and a freckled face. A stove lies in the wall opposite to the door, a pot boiling over it and a pile of firewood close by the side of it.

@Althax, Sylvio remembers what Sadao said about the curse affect all women and children in the proximity. Maybe this man’s wife is sick because of the proximity with the kotoribako. This also fits with the feeling Sunny mentioned before you knocked at this house. If this is the case, you are quite sure the only way to cure the woman will be destroying the box. @Jynne, Sunny notices a silhouette by the window of one of the shacks on the right sight of the Morris residence. Because she does not have darkvision she can’t quite make out the features of this figure, but it is safe to assume it is the gossiper, Emma.
Sunny looks at the man, "Here let me see that hand." (taking out a healer's kit use and applying treatment to it if allowed)
Then at his request about the flames, "Actually I can." Waving a hand in an encouraging gesture, then grinning, "I can do many visual effects too. Color changes, little images or adjust the brightness of it. Mind it's up to the fire to obey but it usually obliges." Glancing at their window after they've all come inside. "I don't want to make it too dramatic as I can imagine what your neighbors would think should odd colors and brighter flames flicker against the back of your curtains. So, I'll keep it simple." She gestures again at the fire and a fluffy looking cat presents in the flame in a slightly different color and curls up on top of it as the fire cooks as if sleeping happily. (this will last an hour or until the fire goes out). Hoping this will calm them somewhat she stands back to admire the flame and looks to Amadi speaking calmly and thoughtfully, "There is something in the air here, not within this home, the general area. I think just being away from the area would make her feel better. I feel it too. Even now I am feeling ill. It seems to only affect females. Maybe I should check on the neighbor?"
Gabriel nods in gratitude to the man as he enters, then approaches the lady slowly, hands out by his sides and head lowered in supplication.
"Ma'am, I am Gabriel Bryte of the Guild of Apothecaries and Physicians. If I may, I wish to see if I can offer any relief from your ailments? My friends here are working hard to find a full cure"
Sylvio enters but hangs back by the door as it shuts, letting the healers and clerics do their job.
”We-a ran into one of-a the local street children… she said-a there have been some-a odd disappearances around-a the troll yard. She also said that-a… you may have-a lost a child.”
He shakes his head “Sylvio is-a sorry for your loss. We have-a been tasked by-a the city guards to solve-a these disappearances… of-a children.” He frowns and grimaces in distaste. “The city guards of-a course care nothing for-a the poor in-a the field ward, but-a got concerned when-a some noble children went-a missing. We are-a chasing a lead and even if-a the city doesn’t care about-a the field ward. We do!”
Amadi nodded to the man. "As you wish, the House of Inspired Hands is here to serve. As for the fire, if my friend cannot get it hotter I am a blacksmith by trade, I should have little trouble stoking the fire and tending to it so you may heat your meal quicker." He will move to inspect the stove and tend to the fire as needed.
When Sunny asks about checking on the neighbor, "Hold off for now so we can go together. If she really is that watchful woman who sees everything we should all be there to speak with her."
Sunny nods to Amadi agreeing that they should all go together. Then adds. "I can increase the heat of the fire easily, but fire demands fuel which these people may not have much of. Your skills may be of more use here to make the most of the fuel already in place, save their resources."
