Sunny checks her pockets and finds let a little lacking for the agreement but is willing to share what she has. Since the conversation Rick holds is with Sylvio, she just steps closer to the others.
Sweeps hears the thoughts of the Amadi buzzing in his head and nods, He turns to Sylvio “Let’s tell him where the bodies are again and be on our way. We can find our own path from there.” Sweeps watches the movements of the guards, alert for any changes in their posture that could spell danger.
Sylvio listens to Rick’s response, and the comments from his friends before answering carefully.
”The bodies are-a in the troll yard-a. Feel free-a to investigate and-a file your report-a.” He then provides precise directions on where the corpse piles are. “As to-a your deal, we must-a respectfully decline. While-a your help would have-a been most appreciated, We cannot afford-a to be in anyones debt-a. As-a to the prices of-a your services,” and he spreads his arms a bit “we-a have little coin and-a have already given you what-a we can spare. We thank-a you for the services you have-a given and will-a proceed on our-a own.” He then turns and walks towards his friends as they depart.
He stops briefly and turns back towards Rick and says, “One last-a thing. When-a you investigate those-a bodies… remember who-a caused that and-a consider whether these-a people would-a make better allies or-a enemies… and-a how dangerous such-a enemies could-a be. Sylvio hopes that-a we will work together in-a the future as-a friends.”
(Sylvio is implying that they could be more useful alive as friends than dead. Also implying that they are dangerous themselves and may not take kindly to being sold out)
Sweeps continues staring down Rick and then moves away with the group as Sylvio finishes his conversation. “Let’s just hope the Captain gives us a chance to talk before he slaps us in chains. But if they are not looking for us yet, we still may be safe. This way, I know a shortcut”Sweeps leads the group through the maze of streets and alleys toward the Castle (City Secrets background feature)

Sylvio follows the group eyes watching for pursuers as they go. He knows that the noble house is actively looking for them.
At sweeps comment he responds, “Although Rick was-a greedy and-a unscrupulous, he-a did give us good information. The captain is-a not going to arrest us. We are-a not wanted. That mess at-a the noble’s house is-a confined by the house. They did-a not report the incident to-a the city watch-a. The captain may-a not see us or help-a us but-a we will not-a be arrested.”
“It’s fine, mate. If you need some favors, you know here to find me.” Rick answered to Sylvio in a tone not unfamiliar for the rogue. The tone of someone that see in the group not a problem, but a potential client for the future. As the party reunites and decides to meet Ironwood, you can see One-Eye call some guards. As he speaks with them you overhear the words Troll Yard and mess. Clearly he is sending men to look at the place of your fight. Elf and genasi understand why the man wouldn’t go check it himself. Every moment away from the gate was a moment where he could lose a bribe. On the streets it is often the case that by trusting on someone, even a partner of years, you risk losses.
The way to the Castle Ward is long and you walk fast. As the hour grows later, more people take to the streets, most of them going to the Sea Ward. This part of the city is, after all, know for housing workers and servants of the rich and powerful. You enter the city proper amidst the crowd and no attention coming to you, despite your less than immaculate clothing, but somewhere in your minds you cannot help but to be nervous about the fact that you are threading close to the Gundwynd Vila.
Sylvio is the more overtly alert of you, but to the best of his abilities he sees no sign of danger. All of you do notice something uncommon on the horizon. At first you think of birds. The creatures were certainly winged. But upon closer inspection you notice their bodies are elongated, almost like that of a quadruped beast. You are not exactly newcomers to the City of Splendors. Some of you, in fact, are not only raised Waterdeep, but born there. Yet none of have seen such beast on the skies.
Notes: You left the Field Ward behind and are now crossing the Sea Ward. If you opt to move stealthy, remember to make Stealth checks. Any doubts, as always, feel free to ask on the OOC.
@Everyone, but Althax, can make a Perception check to see if your character notice any danger (remember to mention your passive perceptions). @Everyone can choose between making a Perception or a History check to determine what they notice about the flying creatures.
Sylvio moves along with his eyes never resting on anything long, but trying to notice and catalogue anything out of the ordinary. As they move he pulls his hood up, ready to disappear at a moments notice.

Sunny looks upward towards the horizon, shading her eyes from the sun and eyes the beasts. She leans into one close to her, "What do you suppose those are? Not quite birds, some sort of beast I think?" She squints and tries to get a better look at the creatures. (pp 16) 24Perception Check
"Friends, we are coming upon the Villa soon, perhaps another route? I don't blend well into a crowd, but I will try. Let us space out some so we don't make such and obvious group?" Stealth5 as she tries to blend better with the crowd and not draw attention to the party with her bulk and unique appearance. She pats Chewy to be on alert for danger knowing that even if he knew the creatures he couldn't tell her what they were so best focused on local dangers. Chewy's perception check 19 (pp 16)

Sweeps pauses, shielding his eyes with one hand as he looks to the sky to try to determine what these strange creatures were that his friends had pointed out "What in the nine hells are those things? Are they Griffon Riders?" Perception: 25.
Sweeps nods in agreement with Sunny and moves to spread out, but still staying close enough to support the others if needed. "Let's keep moving, we need to clear out of this Ward and get to the Captain."
Amadi follows along with the rest, glad to be free of the gates and the mess they left behind. Conscious of their messy clothes he does his best to blend in and walk as if he belongs and nothing is wrong. But he is not used to acting in such a way while still trying to be observant to what is happening around them.

"That is certainly a strange creature that is not seen over the skies. The Griffon Calvary is usually on patrol. Where are they?" he comments. But instead of looking for the griffons he wonders what the creatures may be.

Sunny checks her pockets and finds let a little lacking for the agreement but is willing to share what she has. Since the conversation Rick holds is with Sylvio, she just steps closer to the others.
Amadi uses his telepathy to contact each of his companions with the same message.
"His fee is too high. We tell him where the bodies are and then pass through the gates and find Capt Ironwood ourselves."
Gabriel hopes his reply can be picked up by Amadi: "I agree, there can be no bargain with a man of such philosophy. Let us be on our way"
Sunny thinks back, "I agree, but we should hurry in case he sees benefit in telling others."

Amadi again uses his telepathy to speak to the others.
"We head for Castle Waterdeep. We will find the captain and plead our case to him."
"OK, let's get ready to speak for our lives" says Gabriel in return.
Sunny nods to the others and follows towards the castle to request audience with the Captain.

Sunny nods, "Yes, very reassuring. I hope Rick does do the investigation or he may still find our experience difficult to fathom."
(Sunny briefly enjoys the peace of the town as the DM is away causing mischief elsewhere)
