Looking around the room in awe as the fireflies flit about, Pardot holds a hand out for them to land on, smiling at this interesting bit of nature down in the cellars. He then looks over towards Crinkle, and while Tri asks about the engraving walks towards the Kenku, casting guidance on himself as he walks. Stopping a bit of front of her he leans to the side to look back towards the wall behind and says, "Are there more fireflies behind the wall? Something seems to be glowing from there."
"You like my goat dear? I am not sure where it comes from but I find it rather comical. A goat with a crown, who would have heard of such a thing!" She smiles as she talks about but her tone shifts rather abruptly at Pardot's query. "Ah, yes they do seem to get into all sorts of places. I guess that's about what you would expect from these insects!"She sticks her hooked into the crack you noted and sweeps out a bunch of insects. The crack you noted goes dim. "Now have you poked around here enough or perhaps you'd like to see where I keep my undergarments."
Ludolf you do not note anything interesting. Lots and lots of bugs you wonder how she sleeps with the light and the bugs crawling on everything...

"How interesting!" Pardot says, watching as she scoops the bugs from the crack in the wall. He then would move to look closer in the crack, adding, "I had no idea that fireflies were hive insects! How deep do they live in there?"as he tries to get a closer look into the crack. ((perception 30 - womp... lower than passive...))
"Now, now it's just a crack. I'll get it patched up as soon as this crisis is over. Speaking of the crisis perhaps you should be spending more time figuring that out rather than rooting through my walls?"
You can't see much more than you have with Crinkle in the way.

Leaning back, but not quite turning away, Pardot looks to her closely ((insight 12)) as he says, "Ah yes. You are correct of course. But studying nature, especially in how it interacts with the unnatural, is so fascinating. It'll only take a second to see and then we must be on our way." He then leans a bit to the side, trying to get a better view.
I see I have the manipulated flag above... it was a 17, including the d4, when I added my text, and that changed it... not sure why... damn spaghetti code...

"The goat is quite interesting. And comical as you say! I'd really love to hear more about it. Where did you find such a thing?"Triäsa asks. Her intention is to try to draw Crinkle's attention and help with Pardot seeing past the woman. (Deception: 14)

Pardot -- The old bird seems to really want you all to leave. It appears her patience is running thing.
Ludolf -- Are you being more persuasive or more forceful/intimating?

Seeing the old kenku start to get annoyed, Pardot doesn't want to push too many buttons, so takes a step back saying, "Perhaps you're right. We should check what's above. Though I would love to learn more about the fireflies you've got here later."
Daventry has been holding up at the door to Crinkle's room, ready but not wanting to interfere as the more persuasive of the group work given how little she trusts her own mind at the moment to not succumb to the song.
She keeps a lookout, and wonders how Klin is doing, if he's nearby...
Daventry -- You see rather anxious and twitchy Fembris. She very much seems to want to move you all upstairs. No sign of Klin anywhere. You remember leaving him on the middle floor in a strange chanting trance. It does not appear that he has come back down the bottom floor
The kenku narrows her eyes at Ludolf she seems to consider letting you through. She sways a bit before gripping an odd looking wooden staff tightly. "These are my things, my collections. I have had enough of your rooting around my possessions."Her voice rises in a bit of anger as she speaks. Gailby steps back a bit surprised in the bird's behavior. Her eyes dart across the room at you both. It appears that she has no intention of letting you any further into the room. She does not seem to paying attention to Triäsa or the rest of you at all. She is solely focused on Ludolf and his pleas at the moment.
Klin -- The Tabaxi's eyes soften at teh sincerity of your words and he stops pounding at the door. "I-I-I just can't die here... we need to get out. I don't know what to do.... Can you really help me?"He pleads at your desperately.

Trying to create an opportunity for his team mates to access what is beyond the kenku Ludolf continues their conversation. "My sincere apologies Crinkle, I did not mean to offend you. I can appreciate that you are protective of any books you might have." He says in a friendly and understanding voice, backing away slightly, trying to get the kenku to follow him enough to get Triäsa and Pardot a chance to see what she is so protective about. Deception if needed: 25 Another roll if Daventry for example would help with distracting Crinkle: 15
Crinkle steps forward a bit distracted by Ludolf's query. "Books! I don't care about those dusty tomes everyone else in this place seems to obsess over! I just need my beautiful worms." She snatches one of the bugs from the wall with a surprising quickness and dexterity.
Pardot or Triassa you can make a perception/investigation check and a stealth check with advantage to see if you can see what she's not so subtle trying to hide behind her as she is very distracted.

Triäsa -- Crinkle does not seem to notice your movements as she is focused on Ludolf. You peer around her feathers and get a good look into the crack in the wall. Just as you glance into the crack the light one of the fireflies illuminates the area. You see hidden neatly into the wall a simple switch. Some sort of button. It's exact function is impossible to tell.
