Gunnar brings his axe to bear against the lizardfolk in a reckless barrage of blows.
Gunnar brings his axe down in a giant sweeping blow, his first attack going for Lizardfolk1 and his second Lizardfolk 4. Attacks rolled at advantage, attacks against him have advantage.

Attack 2: (Reckless on Lizardfolk 4): 19 to hit, 7 damage
Reaction: Protection, disadvantage on first attack against Daventry

Move: F4
Attack 1 (Lizardfolk 2): 16 to hit, 11 damage
Attack 2 (Lizardfolk 2): 22 to hit, 11 damage

The halflings unleash hell on Toril as stones and flames fly. All three attacks smash into their target (Lizardman 4?).
The creature yells something in their strange, foul language. He disengages and retreats with his compatriot to just outside the room through the southern door. Both creatures appear to be near death.

The paladins chase their prey down the hallway and slaughter the snakes before they can make any further progress. Both creatures die miserably.
As Daventry and Gunnar stand in the corridor you are hit with a surprisingly fresh blast of cool air. The corridor slopes rather dramatically upward, toward the surface. It is lit dimply by torch light as it curves up and to the left twisting out of sight.
Gunnar sighs heavily and wipes his ax he walks back toward Shorty, "We gottem' little buddy." Shorty simply nods.
Dandelion bounds toward the southern door and lifts her nose to the air. "Fresh air. We are getting closer. Let's keep moving. We are getting you all out, now!" She barely acknowledges the others. Shorty stares at the talking cat curiously before deciding to just go with the flow.

Triäsa is pleased to see Daventry and Gunnar finish off the lizardmen. She moves quickly through the room, slowing only a little to see what might be in it. (Perception if needed: 5) She is ready to proceed as it seems Dandelion wants them to keep going.
As they begin to leave the room, Pardot, more distracted than normal, pulls Triäsa off to the side letting the others go ahead and says quietly,
“Tri… I’m not feeling so well… I think the snake people did something to me. I’m feeling cold and itchy, and that food back there that Shorty was making, which looks like it should be pretty terrible, almost seemed like it might be tasty. Only you and I are free from our chains, so I didn’t want to worry the others. Let’s get out of here… but… keep an eye on me will ya?”

If cats could smile (They can't) Dandelion would be very pleased to see all of you continue forward to what she perceives as the exit.
Triäsa stops momentarily to look at the room on her way out and finds 17 gold pieces among the Lizardmen's belongs.
Dandelion's keen nose feels the air in front of her as you all make your ascent. Carefully, you wind through the corridor as it slopes ever upward toward the surface. After a few moments you come out to a flat landing in yet another hallway that extends to the "North" There are three doors you can see from your immediate position. One directly to the west then two side doors further along to the north.
Cathbad smiles a bit as he drinks from his jug, "The wind blows down from the north. If I were a bettin' man, and I am, I'd say our way out is further along this corridor." An almost hopeful look crosses Maxx's face but it is gone in an instant.
Shorty tugs on Gunnar sleeves with an inquisitive expression, mouthing a few words, "I dunno lil'buddy, we haven't seen anyone. No sign of Sarai, Vitya, Absalom, Whiskers or Enivwenaye. I bet they are fine and will turn up before long." The big man tries to be optimistic.

Triäsa gives a simple nod to Pardot and a slight smile. She then continues on with the others, agreeing to keep moving north. For now she just pockets the gold coins she had found.
As they walk into the room, Pardot rubs his lower back as if it aches a bit, and then looks towards the north before almost taking an involuntary step backwards. Then, as the others suggest going north he simply takes a deep breath, nods to himself, and begins to follow.
