"Hmm. Yeah. That should've worked. I think." Frowning, Daventry takes her dagger and makes a small slice at her own finger, then with her other hand heals it back up flawlessly.

"So... not a problem with me, then. Temple's the first step when we make port. We'll let a cleric get a look at'cha."
Daventry sighs. "Well, I'd hoped to inspire a bit more confidence before I asked you all to try something else with me. I've had the same dream every night since we escaped the temple of Yig." She pulls out a little journal, and looking at the pages you see the notes are a strange mix of incomprehensible symbols and characters. She stares at it, sighs, and continues. "It's a city, golden and lovely, blazed in sunset. Walls, temples, colonnades, arched bridges of marble. Silver-basined fountains of pure water spraying all the colors in a magnificent fountain. Beautiful gardens and avenues lined with perfect trees and flowers. Paradise. But there is something that doesn't settle right with it, that it is a fever dream long past and difficult to reclaim."
"And every time I've dreamt it, I've felt a greater connection to it, and to the nature of dreams. That I could... I guess, guide you? Guide your dreams to adjoin mine?"She looks up. "Gods, I sound like a crazy person. Maybe I should lay off the booze, or alternatively, just down the entire bottle..."
"Yes, I think a temple is definitely in order Pardot. I am sorry we could not be of more help to you," Triäsa says.
She then listens to all of what Daventry has to say. As the woman starts to dismiss her plans, Triäsa speaks up. "Your suggestion is no more far-fetched than all that we have been through. And the only real direction we have had is to go to the Dreamlands. This is the first thing that I have heard of that even potentially might get us there. So do not discount it."
Completing her words of encouragement however, her tone quickly changes. "I do wonder though, who or what exactly is Nodens? How did you get involved with this being? And what exactly does this oath of yours involve?" She pauses, taking a breath as she looks at Daventry. "It just seems strange, you going from when mysterious arcane power to another. Perhaps if we have to go to the Dreamlands then this is simply fortuitous. But it also concerns me a little Dav. What have you gotten into here?"
"I... don't know. Triäsa. I've walked a long path, and at each step tried to make myself a better person... and often found the wrong result."Daventry rubs her hand on her upper arm, where only too recently she was covered with those occult brands.
"Nodens, well, he's been in the back of my mind every night since Lunoris's pool washed over me. I don't know why, I don't know how... hells, I'd love to find out the connection myself. But in that moment within the temple..."
Daventry looks upward again, reciting her words. "Knowledge. Prudence. Courage. Wonder. Four prime words that rang like a bell within my soul. Though the second, well, that'll take some getting used to. Not tossing myself like a whirlwind of chaos at everything... unless it's worth it."
Triäsa gives Daventry a grin. "Once my mother gave me the power to get us all out of there, I was worried you would not come with us. I for one would not mind if you had a bit more prudence!"
She then takes a deep breath. "I do not criticize you Dav. It is quite fortunate you perhaps have access to this Dreamlands when we need it. I just feel wary. It is almost too convenient. And I worry for you sometimes, though I know you can take care of yourself."
Listening to the others, Pardot adds to the conversation, “I think Tri has a good point… The arcane, the gods, the spirits, even the nature around us, though seemingly simple and clear, often is much harder to fully comprehend than you might think. Whatever the source of your new power and inspirations, though it has been quite helpful… perhaps we should still be wary of whatever its actual intentions are.”
Ludolf listens attentively to the others and nods in agreement to what is said, looking at Pardot and Daventry with sincere sympathy. "I agree we should be wary at every step we take henceforth, even you Daventry, but this seems to be the path fate has put us on and although there might be a terrible price to pay at the end of it we can't forget that it is all existence that are in the balance." The old man says grimly. "Are there any preparations necessary before you guide us to the Dreamlands?"He asks Daventry.
"Yes, I would have liked to know more of what we are getting into first. But what exactly do we have to do to allow you to 'guide our dreams'?" Triäsa asks Daventry.
"Uhm. Well. We'll start just coming to my room tonight. It'll be like a sleep-over as a kid..." Daventry sighs. "I think if I infuse you all with a bit of my magic as you fall asleep, sort of like how the healing works, we'll be linked for the next steps."
"This is a bit... experimental? But it seems worth the jump, since Dandelion spoke with such urgency."
Leaning back in his seat as he thinks, Pardot says, "Is this something we should jump into? Yes... there is some haste... but obviously I would like to have this checked," gesturing towards his wounded shoulder, adding, "And if we're to be sent to any lands, dream or otherwise, I'd like to do so from a non-moving home in case it is difficult to return."

Not that it really matters but there are no private rooms on the ship. Everyone sleeps in a big common area it's super awkward.

"I agree it is probably urgent, but do you not think we could wait to get to Waterdeep?" Triäsa asks. "I mean I know you said you would have to infuse us with a bit of your magic, but what if others get pulled in?"
She considers the plan Daventry has presented. Of course, she knows little of this Dodens but she does understand magic. (Arcana: 11)
"If we are to journey to the Dreamlands I doubt it will matter if we are on a ship or on terra firma, our bodies will be our return point wherever they are. It would be important that our bodies are reasonably well protected though." Ludolf interjects. "Entering the Dreamlands will certainly not be without risks though but I believe we don't have a real choice."
"We can wait, though I figured we would be safer on the ship with a trusted crew versus in some random tavern room, especially if we have to pick up Matreus's trail in a hurry..." Daventry takes a drink of her whiskey. "Not sure what else to do."
Ludolf nods in agreement with Daventry. "We could use a day or two finding out more about Pardot's affliction first though, maybe something that will remedy it is within our grasp but we don't know it yet." He suggests looking at the halfling for thoughts, and then the others.
"I cannot Imagine what we might learn on Pardot's condition in a couple days that we won't know now." Triäsa glances over to Daventry. "If it's urgent, why not try now? I don't think we risk too much. If it doesn't work, we try again later."
Triäsa gives Ludolfa look for a moment, then turns to the others. "Well, I guess we all just sit around and wait for Ludolf's mysterious advisor in the middle of the ocean. We are set then."
She takes a cup and a small drink of the whiskey. "Well then Dav, how have you been enjoying the seafaring? You seem quite a natural working amongst the crew."
Ludolf leaves and heads off out of sight and below deck leaving the three of you and Pockets to drink and talk a bit more. Pockets wakes of briefly blinking her eyes, yawns and then sets her head back down.
