"Nothing wrong, this one says, when she's brought fourth soul-sucking entities that hide away as books. How did you do it? Spill words or blood, your choice. Such creatures should not be in this world."
Daventry glares at Korvala, hopefully helping Ludolf be intimidating.
Korvala seems a bit surprised by Ludolf's words but narrows her eyes with a look of fierce determination, "Ah, I see... the books made their way to Candlekeep. I guess I should have assumed that would happen eventually. Forgeries, yes I suppose they were, though not a simple copy as it seems you have surmised." In a calm flat tone, "I don't see how they would harm anyone, I called the gingwatzims into existence as Nidalia showed me. I commanded them to become exact copies of those books and to not change to their true form." You can see the six other figures pull themselves up behind her. Their shadows and features dancing menacingly in the strange purple light that is outlining each of them.
Mentally counting to thirty seconds, Daventry glances at the others. Too much time, no surrender, with the creatures looking particularly aggressive again... and their best chance of survival about to fade away. She rushes forward, moving in a flash, closing the distance between her and Korvala and whipping the glowing tip of the rapier upwards in a slash aimed gut to sternum.
Move: Direct into melee with Korvala, staying as middle as possible to the rest.
Action: Booming Blade Attack: 22 Damage: 13, on move: 6
INITIATIVE DETERIMANT: If more than one of the jackals are before Dav in Initiative, she will Action Surge: Dodge.
(i.e. if this is a "surprise round" we should still have an initiative order, just no one else takes any actions on their turn. I will dodge before the turns of the majority of the jackals come up in iniative order, if that makes sense...)
Daventry's strike crashes into Korvala solidly slashing a huge gash in her arm however the wound quickly closes up before even a drop of blood has the chance to hit the floor. "So you choose violence against me and my pack. Then you choose to die." She grimaces and bares her teeth and releases the deep guttural howl of jackal.
Good luck!

Hearing the cry of Korvala the figures behind her all start to shift with the skin of their faces contorting grotesquely. The bones in their arms and legs cracking and breaking with a sickening sounds. Hair sprouts from their skin as their tails elongate and ears grow. Bloody claws erupt from their hands and feet. Once the transformation is complete they move to surround Ludolf and Daventry. Braving attacks of opportunity seeing the young warriors blade bounce harmlessly off their leader. (They use their action to transform)
Korvala looks deep into Daventry's eyes and hisses, "You brought this upon yourself. Tonight we feast on your flesh." Daventry make a DC10 Wisdom save or fall unconscious x10 minutes
OK good luck make these turns count! Map for reference:
"You should have bargained Korvala, now your pack will pay the price." Ludolf says grimly and swiftly curses shapeshifter 1 (Hex dex) before using his piercing grey eyes to blast it to oblivion. Eldritch blast: 25 (advantage ff, disadvantage firing in melee) Force: 14 Necrotic: 5
Jackal one takes the blast square in the chest as it looks down it sees Ludolf has blown a hole straight through the creature. It looks down in horror before falling to the ground dead.
Klin's book flies out at the creature striking it on the side of the head as blood gushes from a wound. His punch waves harmlessly through the air.

Glad he saved his star power, Pardot grips his shield firmly as it begins to glow with a starry light. He then looks in towards #2, near the person who tried to talk them down. “They should have listened…” he thinks to himself as a flash of light streaks from his shield, followed immediately by a star arrow.
guiding bolt action: Attack: 14 Damage: 10 star arrow bonus action: Attack: 24 Damage: 5 - change targets to #3 if #2 goes down with the first.
A flash of light takes out the second jackal creature and it hits the ground dead as both of the creatures fall to the ground dead you all notice their shapes twist and contort until they appear to be nothing more than a typical jackal laying still on the ground. Jackal three flinches in pain as the radiant light strikes it in the arm. The creature howls in fury.
(Triäsa -- I was not going to count the light spell as your turn I figure you can do that as a free action as Daventry attacked. Just wanted to make sure i mentioned it.)

Daventry flings down her rapier, useless in the current fight. The tip imbeds in the flooring, the hilt wobbling. "Alright, you mangey, flea-bitten mongrel. You want a taste, huh? Do ya?" she shouts, raising her chin and exposing her neck a moment. Her hand dips into her coin purse, finding three silver coins in their smaller compartment. She slots the coins between her fingers, making a fist. "Come and get a nip, you wretched *****, unless you're not even worth the mites in your fur..."
She sets her stance, ready to deflect blows with bracer and shield.

Triäsa takes a deep breath as she continues to softly play her lute, the tune now changing. The notes seem gentler and soothing. She softly sings to cast Sleep:
'Alluring sweet music Filling your mind. In sleep's gentle magic now you're consigned.'
She tries to carefully pick out a target point, making absolutely sure that all of the jackal-type figures are in the 20 ft. radius but trying to keep Ludolf out. Unfortunately Daventry and Klin cannot be avoided as potential targets. She just hopes it will not affect them. (She wants the center to cover 2 but not Ludolf. The spell just says 'centered on a point in range' not that I have to be able to see the point I am targeting. So that point is probably beyond the walls. But obviously DM call if she can manage it because it's really tight. She'd target 2 and Ludolf over missing both of them.)

Triäsa's sweet song fills the air and you all feel a moment of peace and calm. Jackal number two, weakened by Pardot's strike sways gently and after a moment falls to the ground sound asleep. The heat of the battle snaps everyone else back to reality as no one else is affected.
ROUND 2!
Jackal 2 seeing the devastation that Ludolf wrought on his friend strikes out in anger trying to tear into the old man with his teeth
Attack: 23Damage: 4
Jackal's 4 and 5 coordinate their attack with Korvala striking at the same time. As the Jackals bite at her shoulders Korvala draws a fine scimitar from her side and swings it wildly at the fighter. (All attacks would have advantage on attacks due to Pack Tactics but canceled by Daventry's dodge)
AttackJackal 4: 14Damage6
AttackJackal5: 5Damage 4

Jackal 6 frustrated by the bottle neck stares intently at Klin. For just a moment their eyes meet and Klin starts to feel very very sleepy. Klin make a DC 10 Wisdom saving throw. Fall asleep on a fail.
Jackal 3 snores loudly. It's very annoying.
OK your go!
