If Razi can move without drawing an AOO, he will move closer to his friends on the front line. He grits his teeth and extends his hand toward the mad Druid. “Sanction!” Again a beam of light shines out toward the foe. Eldritch Blast: Attack: 22 Damage: 1

The angry look vanishes from Razi’s face, replaced by concern.
”Does anyone need further healing?
What madness possessed that stranger? Did anyone understand his ramblings?”

"I am embarrassed to ask my friend but yes if you can spare it, otherwise I may need a short rest. Who knows, maybe I will catch my second wind. I am afraid I know nothing about what just happened. I do not wish to suffer a blast like that again anytime soon."
Caine sweeps around on the ground with his lit torch, making sure none of those walking, stabbing twig creatures is still their waiting to pounce.
”Tree branches don’t attack you in the city,” Caine says as he looks around. “Let’s get out of this damn mist and find a tavern or an inn.”
As he straightens back up he winces where the stick creature stabbed him but he smiles after that and looks around, shrugs and gestures towards the gates they were about to enter before they were attacked.
If the rest are ready he’ll head through to see what town they’ve found.

Razi approaches Sleet and lays his hands on the thick scales of the dragonborn. "Restore thyself." His hands glow briefly and Sleet regains 4 HP.
Razi looks pleased to have helped, but also tired in a way. "I'm afraid that was the last of my healing powers. I suggest we follow Caine's suggestion and find somewhere safe to shelter." He looks around. "And perhaps we can find Madame Eva and the answers we were promised."
His hammer is still lit and he offers to lead the way through the gloom.

Nelyna stumbles over toward Razi and Caine. Her nerves feel strange after being hit with the lightning attack, and her movements are jerky and uncoordinated.
She agrees with Caine. "I'm with you. I want nothing more right now than to enjoy a nice glass of wine. I fear this is only the beginning of our troubles here though."
“… Are we certain this is a town? We haven’t just walked in a graveyard, have we?”

While the others investigate the body, Razi silently begins gathering nearby wood, branches, sticks and brush for a pyre.

Caine whips round when the gates slam shut, raises his eyebrows and turns back to the road/street/path they're walking along.
"Must be a town of some sort here," Caine says. "And towns have taverns. And taverns have ale."
He looks for any sign of a tavern or inn as they walk.
"I could use a drink after that! Maybe this Madame Eva is around here somewhere."

"Are you okay?" Caine asks Nelyna. "You've shuddered."
Nelyna shakes her head to clear it. She looks distinctly pale and ill.
"This place...it's dreadful. Something terrible has happened or is still happening. I sense...death."
She looks around, as if searching for eyes watching them in the darkness. "We're too exposed," she mutters.

(Sorry I've been missing, I had a busy weekend.)
After seeing someone being killed in front of him once more, Jim is lost in thought as everyone continues down the road.
"You sense death?" Jim asks Nelyna. "What a peculiar thought! Still, I think this requires investigating."
Jim then begins searching around the place for any signs of blood or any other clues.

Jim takes the crumpled envelope from the young man's hand.
"Looks like he was attacked by some animal, but let's see what this says."
He opens the envelope to read what is inside.

Caine wrinkles his nose at the smell of the dead body, but other than that, it doesn't appear to bother him too much.
"Dead don't bite," Caine says to himself as he takes a knee by the body.
He notices the crumpled envelope and takes it out and smooths it out to see if there's any writing on it. He'll open it too and take a look inside.
And as this isn't the first dead body he's given the once over, he does a quick search of pockets.
"Wolves?" he questions when he notes the paw prints.
