Hearing the dwarf's call, the harengon is put to mind of the performance ensemble seen in the street earlier. "Durinbold. Why does that name sound so familiar?" he thinks to himself. Recalling the limerick from the painted gnomes, Rah'zher is seized with fear. "Sorry, pal, I'm already conscribed to another outfit at the moment. Actually headed there right now. Think I'll be on my way now."
He looks to see that the rescued man is still sound and present, and glances about for any sign of a Flaming Fist. Perception: 12
Rah'zher - The driver frowns again and whatever he begins to say is eclipsed by more angry yelling. Klim is still standing nearby and follows you as you begin walking away from the carriage. A few blocks away you find a Flaming Fist mercenary leaning against a storefront with her arms crossed.
You recognize this smell from a journey you made to swamps of The High Moor to retrieve a special kind of root that grows there. One of your traveling companions showed you places where natural gas seeped up from the depths of the earth, "Watch this Ankita, stand back!" She then produced a small flame in her hand and tossed it at the gas. The flame ignited the gas and caused a large fireball to erupt before you, "These swamps are full of dead and buried flora and fauna. Their bodies decompose and produce flammable gases that can erupt with all the energy they once had in life. Such is one aspect of the circle of life Ankita."
The smell is coming from whatever lies beyond the door to the east. It reminds you of a street performance you once saw as a boy. A gnome inventor was showing off a gas-powered automaton built to resemble a dog. The roboid clanked and clonked as it stomped around jerkily, emitting a foul stench. Having relieved most of the onlookers of the contents of their pockets, you were heading off to find another mark when the dog exploded, killing the gnome and injuring a large number of onlookers. You tripled your findings in the ensuing chaos. The smell coming from beyond the door is the same emitted by the gas powered roboid and likely very flammable.
“Back up!” Hisses Remi. He moves quickly backward, backpedaling. “Some gas, likely flammable! I’m not going any closer with a torch. Probably from decaying dead bodies. Isn’t there another door we can go through in that other room?” He backs up into the water filled room before this.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Ankita recalls her time with a friend in the High Moor and relates her experience with her new friends about the dead and buried flora and fauna. “Remi is correct, stay away from that gas with the flames!”
Ankita - The ball of flame impacts right in the center of the door, easily punching through the soft, rotting wood. The door is then obliterated by a large explosion that expels flame and smoke violently outward into the flooded room.
All - In addition to the explosion, you all hear what sounds like tons of earth and stone collapsing into the room beyond.

Remi is holding his nose again. He looks for the source of the rotten egg smell, holding his torch up. Also looks for any doors.

"Just brace yourself for the stench and get on with it Master Turnuroth." Damain says from the back.
Samuel - Make a Survival check please.
Remi - You're confident that the source of the smell lies beyond the door in in the eastern wall.
All - Any who would attempt to determine the source of the smell can make a Survival check.

Ankita was curious about the smell as well since as they got closer to the door it became stronger.

"Yes, yes, alright, couldn't we just set it off from here and then it will be safe?" Damian says a bit impatiently.
”I agree with Master Damian. We stand back and produce a flame in the gas from a distance to prevent ourselves from being roasted.”
“im glad we’re standing in water. Everyone back up Behind me.” She stands 30 feet away from the door, produces her flame and throws it at the door
