Samuel raises his rapier and strikes the cultist.
Attack: 13 Damage: 9
(Forgot the crit I think, but it only adds 1 damage in this case. Re-edit: I didn’t touch the dice roll…it was originally only a 1 on the roll for a total of 5 damage including the crit)

Damian sees the cultist still struggle to break the grip of Sam's spell and decides call upon his newfound infernal powers, hurling three rays of infernal flame against the skull-faced Bhaalist.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
The Death's Head of Bhaal is DEAD. Combat has ended.
Mortlock relays the following information:
“I was betrayed. These assassins conspired with my brothers to kill me. If you hadn’t come along, I’d be dead. I owe you my life.”
“My family is paying the Dead Three cultists to murder people in the city. Our goal is to prove that the Flaming Fist can’t do its job. Once the city stops paying them, the Flaming Fist will have less of a reason to stay in Baldur’s Gate. With them gone, no one can stand in the way of my mother becoming the city’s next grand duke. If she gets her way, Baldur’s Gate will share Elturel’s fate and get dragged down into the Nine Hells.”
“My mother is one of the three remaining members of the Council of Four, which governs Baldur’s Gate. She was instrumental in convincing Ulder Ravengard to travel to Elturel and meet with its high overseer, Thavius Kreeg. With Ravengard gone, the Flaming Fist is leaderless and vulnerable.”
“The Dead Three cultists receive regular payments from my brother, Amrik, who runs his own moneylending business out of a tavern called the Low Lantern. My mother doesn’t expect much of me, but she thinks the world of Amrik. He’s always been her favorite.”
“My oldest brother, Thurstwell, uses imps as spies throughout the city. He has the bathhouse under surveillance and probably knows you’re here. He’s very sickly and seldom leaves our mother’s estate.”
“If you’ve made it this far, you’ve killed most of the leaders of the Dead Three cult. Without them, the cult will break up. The cultists keep their treasure nearby.”
Remi slices the neck of the Death Head of Bhaal when he is down on the ground, and inserts his dagger into his heart for the finishing blow. He wipes the blood off of his dagger and short sword, looks the body over for anything of use, looking at his weapons, armor, and in his pockets.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Ankita knows that whatever they saw that was attacking Mortlock when they met him was still alive and that was the way they were heading. She decides to stay a badger for a bit to hopefully give them an edge against that foe. She’s proud of her boys and the swift way they took care of the Death Head of Bhaal. She starts heading that way and looks back towards them to see if they are going to follow.
Damian blasts the dead body of the cultist one more time for good measure before looking up and nodding at the others. "Good work everyone, this might have been the last of the cultists but to be thorough we would want to search the part of the sewers beyond where we saw this one fight Mortlock. Let's get this over with, Master Turnuroth, if you'd be so kind." He says, motioning for the green dragonborn to take point and go back to the last part of the dungeon. "Now Mortlock, I think I get what you told us, but could you please explain the part about Elturel being dragged into the Nine Hells a little bit further, please." He says on their way back to the chamber with the island.
Remi turns to Mortlock as he is looking over the DHoB and says “I would like to hear about that as well. Are there any more of these cultists down here? There was one disguised as a crazy old lady that nearly killed us all, I don’t want to get caught off guard again. Speaking of which,” Remi turns to Ankita, “I thought for sure that you were dead when you fell down in this foul water, but here you are. What happened? I am glad you are alive, but it looked like she stabbed you pretty deep.”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Damian - Mortlock nods his approval as you blast the dead cultist then replies, "Surely you've heard the rumors? Well, they aren't rumors. Elturel and its inhabitants have been ripped from the mortal plane and cast into Avernus. My mother aims to see Baldur's Gate suffer the same fate as an offering to the infernal power she serves."
Remi - Mortlock turns to you and reiterates, “If you’ve made it this far, you’ve killed most of the leaders of the Dead Three cult. Without them, the cult will break up. The cultists keep their treasure nearby.” Mortlock indicates Area A as the location of the treasure.
All - The following areas remain unexplored:
Area A - A short flight of stairs climbs to a circular chamber with four padlocked wooden chests piled in the middle of it. The chests are locked, but are unlocked using the key found on the Iron Consul. The chests contain the following:
Chest 1 holds 4,500 cp and two red crystal vials with gold stoppers (25 gp each). Each vial contains a potion of fire breath. With the coins and vials inside, the chest weighs 70 pounds.
Chest 2 contains ten eye agates (10 gp each) scattered amid 1,250 sp. With the coins and gemstones inside, the chest weighs 37 pounds.
Chest 3 contains a delicate porcelain dragon mask (25 gp) resting on a bed of 2,400 cp and 500 sp. With the coins inside, the chest weighs 55 pounds. The mask weighs 1 pound.
Chest 4 contains a bronze crown with five spires (250 gp). Each spire is shaped and painted to resemble one of the five kinds of chromatic dragons (black, blue, green, red, and white). With the crown inside, the chest weighs 27.5 pounds. The crown weighs 2½ pounds.
Area B - Nine wooden crates are scattered throughout this room. Scurrying among them are six harmless rats. Six of the crates are empty except for packing straw. The other three contain stolen goods that the cultists have not yet disbursed, including ten days’ worth of rations, a bag of twenty caltrops, three flasks of alchemist’s fire, six sets of manacles, four tinderboxes, nine daggers, and four potions of healing in glass vials.
Area C - Burned torch stubs litter the floor of this hall, the western end of which is occupied by three six-foot-tall, painted wooden statues. Each statue stands atop a two-foot-high block of red stone, making it look taller and foreboding.
The center statue resembles a heavily armored man whose face is hidden behind the fearsome visor of his helmet. He’s painted red except for his right gauntlet, which is black. Clutched in this gauntlet is a blood-red spear, pointed upward. The statue to the north depicts a purple-garbed male noble wearing a harlequin mask and holding a dagger behind his back. The statue to the south portrays a black-robed skeleton with its jaw opened wide and its bony hands outstretched.
"Excellent, our mission here is completed, now let's get out of these sewers and report back to Captain Zodge. Mortlock, do you have anywhere to lay low while we sort things out with the Flaming Fists?" Damian asks, ready to leave now.
Damian - Mortlock says, "Aye, I know of a place where even my mother can not find me. I will lay low until your business with the Fists and my mother is complete. I have no interest in confronting her and I will know if you are successful. For your sake and the sake of the city, I hope that you are. Is there a place I can contact you when all is done?"
Ankita releases her wild shape of badger and is back to herself again in one quick motion. She looks at Remi with sad, almost forlorn eyes. “She killed me, yes. How I am standing here before you? I hate to tell you I made a deal, I still can’t believe I did that, but I did NOT want the same fate to be set on the five of you.” Ankita starts crying and then sobbing. Once she has recovered, “but I was too late! Ranala!!!” Ankita takes a moment, “Please do not worry, even though my looks have changed due to my deal, I am still Ankita and always will be. I hope you all still accept me.” And she hangs her head down, ashamed of what happened, but knowing she would do it again for these friends of hers that she would give her life for.
Samuel returns to Ranala’s body, carefully picking it up. He may have to remove her armor to carry her, but he will ensure she has her whip at least. His intent is to provide her a proper burial. He refuses to leave her body in this foul environment.
Remi looks up at the big firbolg and walks over to her, not caring that he (or she) smells of sewer, sweat and blood, and gives her a big hug. Very odd from Remi, he is not the hugging sort of guy, but this is an unusual situation. Ankita was standing toe to toe beside him against skeletons, zombies, rats, and horrible cultists. The kind of bond that brothers in arms develop as they fight and die beside each other. He says to her softly, none of the smack and panache in his voice, “Hush now, don’t you worry about a thing. We all know of the stuff you are made of girlie. I don’t know who you saw or talked to, but I know that you are here with me now, you will have my sword arm to help you anytime. You are in Remi’s “inner circle” let’s call it. I’m here for you.” He comforts her as best he can, and then prepares to help move them all up and out of these godforsaken sewers and into safety above ground.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
All - After learning how he can contact you in once his mother and the Flaming Fists have been dealt with, Mortlock exits the dungeon. You all should be able to carry the treasure listed above between you, though the chests must be carried as they won't fit in a backpack. Samuel is carrying Ranala's body and so his hands are full. Just let me know who takes which chest and we can move on.
Ankita gives a huge sigh of relief and hugs Remi back. She doesn’t speak a word as all of them are choked in the back of her throat. She nods and then grabs the heaviest chest, #1, and heads out of the dungeon with the rest of her crew.
"The Elfsong tavern would be an appropriate venue for leaving messages I think. Please check in there once per day and I will leave a message through the barman when you can come out of hiding. Is that good enough for you Mortlock?" Damian asks his client.
Damian nods approvingly to Sam as he collects the body of Ranala. "We never found her notes did we, a pity, I imagine she really would have wanted those with her in her grave." He says somberly.
"Yes, after our ordeals together I think you can count on all of us to stand by you Ankita, But you must prepare yourself for the price that will have to be paid for your ...resurrection." Damian says in an ominous tone. "But don't worry, I have some insights into dealings with devils, I will be sure to represent you when the price is due."
"Now, anything else before we report back to Captain Zodge?"
