Barkasdoes not miss a second time. After suffering from Eldeth's spell, the ghoul is unable to withstand being struck by the ball of fire. With its vile flesh smoldering and smoking, the ghoul collapses on the floor.
Eldeth puts her hands on her knees, leaning over slightly. "Woof. That was a lot." After a second she'll groan and stand up straight again, and take a peek in the now-open chamber to see if there's anything of interest.
As the hall becomes quiet, Matthias would saunter past his comrades, holding his injured arm. "Heh... Heh... Well that was something!" He'd walk over to ghoul #2, grunting as he reaches down to pull the arrow from it's belly. Hitting such a soft area would have kept the arrow from getting too damaged for reuse. Looking down at his arm, Matthias would sigh. "Ruined my damned shirt through the armor are you kidding me?!"Glaring back he'd check on everyone, Faloniir and Rasp didn't look to be fairing well so he'd speak up.
"Let's take a few moments to rest, huh? Good effort for an ambush." Matthias would produce his [Tooltip Not Found] and down it. Looking to Faloniir he'd signal to the ghoul with his arrow poking from it's noggin. "Three." He'd then join Eldeth in entering the chamber, investigating for any treasure.
Eldeth and Matthiasenter the small room, and it's all they can do to keep from retching. Blood, bones, and fragments of flesh cover the floor. This seems to be the place where the ghouls liked to consume their meals. There is a small blood-soaked leather pouch on the floor; it contains 25 pieces of gold.
Faloniir will smile and tip his potion of healing toward Matthias in salute before guzzling it, "Good work. Maybe next time I'll open the door and let you handle the Ghoul."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Matthias would grab at the pouch, feeling the weight of the pouch and peering inside to see it filled with gold. He'd look to the dwarf, remembering he isn't alone in this venture. "We will split it later." He assures the dwarf as he stashes it in his pocket. He'd then sneak to the door to the north. Instead of opening the door, he'd simply attempt to hear what could be behind the other side of the door using the empty potion vial. He'd smirk looking to Faloniir, putting a finger to his lips to let him know he's listening-in. Telepathically Faloniir would hear, "Thank you. But to be fair, I did handle a ghoul on my own. You just didn't see it while you were bleeding-out."
Carefully placing the flat bottom of the vial against the door, and his ear to the small mouth of the vial, he'd hold his breath to eavesdrop.
Stealth: 13 (I rolled with advantage instead of disadvantage as I should have. I rolled a 5 so the total should be 11 for Stealth and an 18 for Perception)
Matthiaslistens at the door and hears a gentle splashing sound as if liquid is spilling onto the floor. Before he can begin to speculate about what's making the noise, Elonath sends him a telepathic image: a blood-soaked statue of a horned and winged demon vomits a fountain of blood into the air, gathering in a bubbling pool around his legs.
Matthias would flutter his eyes, listening to this and slowly back away and join his comrades back in the hall. "Elonath sent me a message. I heard the sounds of water spilling onto the floor, and in my mind I saw a blood-soaked statue which looked like a gargoyle. Blood was pouring from the mouth and spilling onto the ground; it was bubbling blood. Didn't seem like good news." He'd look to Elonath to get his input to see if they should venture inside.
Eldeth keeps her arm and sleeve over her nose. "Ugh. And don't forget, for unlocked doors I've got mage hand as well, so no one needs to be too close."
Barkas puffs his chest out as the last ghoul goes down, looks back at Elonath like "Check that out!" He straightens his pack and pats the back of it, "Fly down to your spot. Let's press on."
After he sees the room of bones and flesh, he shivers imperceptibly and makes his way forward to the room where his tangling vines landed, peers into the room, looking for movement.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Regarding the unopened door in the hallway (1), Elonath seems indifferent about whether it should be opened.
As Matthiasapproaches the door (2) near the slain ghoul, Elonath takes flight from Barkas's pack and lands in front of the door. Hissing at Matthias, the pseudodragon sends him an image:
Within the oddly-shaped, curved room, Barkas detects nothing of concern. Four doors (2, 3, 4, and 5) exit the room.
Barkas carefully crosses the room and listens at door #4, looks to Elonath with a questioning look. He motions Mathias away from door 2 and motions for him to come over.

Matthias pauses and cringes a bit at the image in his head and would slowly walk back besides Barkas. "Damn..."He'd mutter, remembering the look of the creature. Looking to Barkas he'd ask,"Hey, do you know about dragons? Because personally I'm questioning how this dragon knows what is in every single room of this place. Do they have foresight? I know liches were once wizards that just wanted more power, you think Elonath was its familiar or something?"
Following Barkas to the northernmost door (4), Elonast lands on the druid's shoulder and emits a soft growl. With his left wing, he motions toward Eldeth, who is listening at the eastern door (5).
Eldeth doesn't hear any noises on the other side of the door.
Barkas nods and whispers to Matthias, "I have wondered that myself. I am no dragon expert. But I don't get that feeling at all from the images he sent to us. Perhaps we are being tricked, that is a possibility, but I don't think so. And look at how cute he is! Wait a minute, let me see something..." Barkas pulls out from a side pocket his trusty, worn star map. "There it is! I knew it! The dragon is in opposition to the Kraken! Just look! I knew you were a goodun, good ole Elonast!" Barkas's spirits are buoyed by this most happy realization.

"Dragons aren't one of the traditional familiars," Eldeth offers. "I don't know much about them outside of what some of them are rumored to have in their hoards, though," she adds."And I think if she wanted to lure us somewhere, someone who talks might be a sight easier to do that with." She gestures to her door. "I think this is the one." Once the others are ready, she'll stand clear and try the door with mage hand.
Barkas tries again to fling a ball of flame at the ghoul.

Combat has ended.
Faloniir will incessantly whine at Rasp as he watches them get brutalized by the Ghoul, "C'mon man, use your shield! Hold it higher! Higher!"
