Halei startles at the sudden attack and barks out expletives and casts Thunderclap in a relfex reaction, and pulling out her sword to ready for attack.
The mud mephits leap toward you to attack, salivating mud as they snarl toward you.
Balliol, your sword at the ready, you step forward, placing yourself between the mephit (d) and Wildred. You swing your blade just in time, cutting the little critter's launch at Wildred short. It winces in pain as it is knocked back (taking 4 damage).
Resmae, with lightning speed, you whip out your armed crossbow with an audible snarl of aggression and fire it, just a little too early at the launching mephit (a) as it comes at you. Your bolt sails past your aggressor and sinks into the mud (I have subtracted -1 crossbow bolt from your character sheet).
A mephit (e) launches itself at Halei.
Sammy wastes no time as a mephit (c) flies toward him. He quickly counters and hurls himself toward it, viciously biting into the little critter first.
Chapley, as the mephit (b), comes at you, you step back and spear your javelin toward it. You miss your mark. Your javelin rests, skewered in a distant tree.
Halei, the mephit (e), launches toward you and spews thick, sticky mud all over you (In the interest of time, I rolled your dexterity save for this round, which failed. Sorry!). The substance's viscosity makes it very difficult to move (you are restrained and unable to cast Thunderclap).
As the mephit (c) bears Sammy's sharp teeth embeded in its tiny body, it belches its sticky mud all over him. He quickly shakes back and forth, tossing the creature and flailing the disgusting mud from him.
Balliol, offended by your strike, the mephit (d) comes at you again as you regain your composure from the swing. Its muddy fist punches you across your cheek (take 2 damage), and your head twists from the smash in the face.
Chapley, you may have missed your mark with your attack, but you notice the mephit reaching as if about to vomit, and your quick reflexes avoid the mud spew the critter attempts to hurl on you. Your dodge of the vomit causing you to bump into the mephit attacking Resmae (see below).
Wildred, Balliol steps between you and the creature attacking you, and as not to harm Balliol, you redirect your Fire Bolt toward a more attainable goal. The mephit (c) that you see thrown to your left by Sammy. Your instincts serve you well, and the creature is blasted back in a ball of flame. You can glimpse its outer mud skin begin to crack like a drought-stricken landscape.
Resmae, as your missed bolt sails off past the attacking mephit (c), you watch as if in slow motion as the critter's fist comes directly at your face. You bend your back, recoiling your neck and the combination of your reflexes and Chapley's back step to avoid being spewed on, knocks the creature, saving you from the ensuing mighty blow in the face.
Summary:
Mephit (d) is slashed by Balliol's sword (taking 4 damage).
Mephit (c) is bitten by Sammy, thrown around and struck by Wildred's Firebolt (taking 14 damage).
Halei is currently restrained in disgusting and sticky mud.
Balliol is punched in the face (taking 2 damage).
Please see the battle map and post your round 2 actions.
Becoming overwhelmed with frustration, Resmae pulls out her holy symbol and raises it high above her head, "Close your eyes guys!"Speaking a few words under her breath, she channels her divinity to Radiance of Dawn. Each mephit needs to make a CON save of 13 or take 10 radiant damage, half if saved.
As an action, you can use Channel Divinity and present your holy symbol to dispel any magical darkness within 30 ft. Additionally, each hostile creature within 30 ft. (that doesn't have total cover) must make a CON saving throw (DC 13) or take 2d10+2 radiant damage (half damage on success).
Sammy whirls around to the mephit closest to him (b) and attacks again with his teeth
Wildred recognising his friend balliol is sticking his neck out for him is filled with gratitude but remembering the emotions of seeing his friend in such bad shape before conjures another fireball in fury and rage and launches it at the mud mephit that hit his friend...His face visibly turning red in his child form it was a rage that Wildred rarely displayed due to his academic disposition and was actually more prevalent in his younger years but had always been inside of him,and only reared its ugly head on rare occasions such as this.Much to the disappointment of his Father who had always told him that to lose control of ones emotions, effected ones thinking ability and that thinking ability in turn has a detrimental effect on ones ability to utilise the magical energy that was needed to effectively cast certain spells..he had always thought it to be more of an accelerant on the contrary and had run many tests to prove his father was wrong...however his mind did have a tendancy to run wild and all this train of thought could be the real cause of losing concentration rather than the emotional state itself.
(All of this thought process in wildreds mind happens faster than the average person seconds infact lol)
Bugs was disgusted by the muddy creature in front of him and annoyed at the blow he took. Glad to see that he had done damage to the creature he struck out again. (To hit: 9, damage, unlikely, is 4) These creatures did not seem to be easily batted away mud things. He had seen how they spewed mud and got people stuck so he kept his eyes open for just that. But even as he was angry at these creatures and their ambush he drew on his inner calm and called up the Way of the Carrot. With his shortswrod whirling in one direction, he kicked out at the mephit. (Using a Ki point for Flurry of Blows. To hit: 17, damage: 4. This is on the mephit in front of him. If by chance it was already dead, which seems unlikely, he would shift to the next closest target for this attack.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chapley spins around on the mephit he bumped into. Looking down as he towers over it, he grins, grips his axe in both hands, and makes a mighty downward swing.
Finally, Halei stumbles back a little bit as her leg is pulled from the mud. Now freed she readies her stance and her sword. Before the approaching monster gets too close she starts mouthing words under her breath, casting dissonant whispers at the creature.
Balliol, annoyed and disgusted by the muddy mephit (d) in front, you slash out with your sword for another blow. The nimble little critter ducks and weaves, missing your blade but unknowingly positions itself under your long bunny feet. Not one to let an opportunity like this pass you by, you jump up in the air, pound down, pound down and pound down again. The mephit finds itself embedded into the soggy earth below, hammered in by your faster-than-sight jackhammer feet flapping in a flurry of blows and shattering its mud-soaked teeth (it takes 4 damage).
Resmae, you have an idea! Grabbing your amulet in both hands, you hold it high above your head, warn your friends, "Close your eyes, guys!" and call on the power of your Deity. The amulet glows a blinding white light, and you throw down in an explosive burst of brilliance, and all five of the mephits are tossed back from this power. The farthest mephit (c) explodes in a mud shower, dissolving back into the wet earth from whence it came.
Halei, the mephit (e) nearest you, quickly regains its flight feet and charges right at you, its little muddy hands duked up and ready. Before you know what hit you, BAM!!! (critical hit) the little bugger lifts your feet off the ground with an uppercut (for 8 damage). The good thing is it helped free you from the sticky mud. When your feet find mud again, you shake the blow and the rest of the mud off and ready yourself to retaliate.
Sammy wastes no time after Resmae's smite scatters the critters, and he dives right back at the mephit (b). Sinking his teeth in, snarling and growling, he shakes it around like a rag doll before tossing it into the air.
Chapley, you spin around, smile and grip your axe in both hands. You drive it down with a mighty swing, splitting the mephit (b) right down the middle. It explodes in a shower of mud, the force of your blow parting the dangerous mud around you.
Halei, regaining your composure from the sticky mud and mighty blow, you whisper a discordant melody at the mephit (e) that smacked you. The tiny beast writhes in pain before exploding in a sticky mud shower, which both yourself and Resmae manage to dodge and avoid being harmed.
Balliol, the mephit (d) directly at your front, charges you again, its little dukes rolling and ready to box. It comes at you fast. Just as a fire bolt whizzes past you, conjured by Wildred's hand. It misses the little bugger, causing it to miss you and end up on your left.
Leaving only one other mephit (a) ready to attack. Its little face grimaces as it sizes up both Resmae and Chapley. It knows it is outnumbered and outgunned. Uncharacteristically, however, it chooses to play fisty cuffs with Chapley. Flying up with great speed and belting him across his cheek (for a measly 3 damage). Chapley barely moves from its punch, and you see panic smear across the little critter's face as it waits to see what wrath comes next.
You have finished off three of the mephits, and only two remain (mephits a and d). Other than Halei, the rest of you remain mostly unscathed. Please see the battle map and post your round 3 actions. This should be easy!
Chapley slowly turns his head back to face the mephit (a) who had slapped him. He then cracks his neck, rolls his shoulders, and explodes into motion. He spins completely around, building up momentum with his axe, aiming to remove the creatures head with a sideways swipe. The air distorts around the head of his axe, and a low rumbling sound accompanies its movement, like that of distant thunder.
Balliol spun to his left to swing at the Mephit again. He slashed with his short sword (To hit: 8, damage: I forgot because it is irrelevant. I will be assuming a miss in the rest of the post.) He thought about kicking out again, but looking around and seeing only two of the creatures left, decided not to waste his last Ki point. He took a step back (Not enough to provoke an attack of opportunity.) and readied his defense while nodding at Wildred as if to say, "he is all yours."
Wildred seeing balliol signal with a nod was sure he had it right this time!and not wanting another feather incident was certain that the nod meant burn him, with that the wizard roles is hands like massaging an invisible ball and what looks like a small spark grows and grows in to a huge and larger than average fire ball as he hurls it in the mephits direction.

Resmae looks up at Chapley, impressed with what he did to the mephit. If there is anything left of it, she tries to stick it with Sir Talavar's Tiny Sword.
Attack: 11 Damage: 6
After the wizard sends his attack at d, Sammy tries and helps, bounding after the mud creature and snapping his jaws.
Halei gasps out of shock at the mephits exploding around them, but quickly gains her composure. Huffing a bit in pain from the hit, she lunges at the nearest mephit and swings at it with her sword.
Balliol, you spin left, slashing at the mephit (d) with your sword. The little critter pulls back its head as your blade swings past its face missing only by tenths of an inch. It openly starts to laugh in your face when...
Wildred, while conjuring a ball of lightning in your hand, you watch as Balliol's blade misses, and as the mephit (d) mocks him, you release your fire bolt, and it fires off and only skims the creature. It twists from the fire, wincing from the burns (2 damage).
Halei, you are quick with your sword, and before the critter even has a chance to turn back, you rush it and with a big swing of your lucky sword, the mephits head is sliced, clean off. Rolling into the mud below as its body explodes in a mess of sticky mud. You had already learned that lesson and retreat as soon as its neck leaves its messy little body. You are hurting.
Chapley, Resmae and Sammy pile in on the last remaining mephit (a). The poor little scoundrel doesn't stand a chance. It is met with Chapley's spinning axe of thunderous smite and Resmae's stab with Sir Talavar's tiny sword. By the time Sammy's teeth reach it, it has exploded. Resmae, you find yourself splattered with some of the sticky mud ex-mephit. It will take some prying to get Sir Talavar's sword out of your hand.
You all glance around at the mud mephits that are now dissolved back into the surrounding swamp and scan for any more of the little blighters.
Resmae, you turn to check on Aros and see her motionless little faun body lying face down in the swamp.
Well, you made short work of those five nuisances. Balliol has taken a little hit. Halei is hurt and needs some healing, and Aros, well...
Balliol looks at the exploded remains of the mephit that used to be in front of him and grins. "Laughing, eh? I brought friends . . . "
But that was when he saw Aros lying face-down in the mud. He quickly moved over to her and lifted her up. Luckily a little Satyr didn't weigh much.
"A quick healing, perhaps for Halei, and we need to get moving. Chapley, I think you may need to carry our friend here. I could, but you are much stronger than I." He then glanced at Wildred. "Willy, perhaps while we do a quick heal you could look around and see if those things had a nest anywhere. Just don't get out of sight."
Bugs then stood there holding Aros out of the mud and waited until the healing was done and they were ready to move.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Resmae gasps as she sees Aros. She watches silently as Balliol lifts her effortlessly out of the mud and hands her over to Chapley. Tears start streaming down her face and she slowly walks over to the little satyr. Unsure of her actual state, Resmae puts her hands on her and casts spare the dying. She then sloshes through the mud over to Halei, gives her a half-hearted smile and puts her little paws on her wounds, casting cure wounds, letting the magic seep from her paws to Halei, whispering, "Thank you Lathander."
Cure wounds: 5 hps to Halei
