Randy gives Dornikal a bit of a look. "Not for me. For Coljin. I'll be talking to Whoopsie in a few days to see if he's done with the night vision goggles I ordered. He probably knows most of the artificers in town, if nothing else by reputation. Who knows? He might even have some he's made himself." Randy pauses. "Although I'm not sure how much to trust anything he makes that shoots or channels magic."
Coljin chuckles at the exchange, "Yeah, I need to spend and exchange some magic and gold and get something else. You have all gotten way better at offensive fighting and getting rid of threats. I've pretty much gotten better at healing more. Which is good...but...I need to be able to stop problems, too, if I'm alone or if other problems creep up. So, I guess, I will be just looking for something to give me a few more options in a bad fight."
"Oh, aye that okay for him. Aye'd say a nice enchanted sword is a better option for ye though Coljin. Even if the magic doesn't work ye still got a sword. With a staff or a wand all ye got is a stick."
Randy raises an eyebrow. "A sword requires a fair amount of training to be good with it. Now a mace or war hammer might be a better option if you just want something to melee with."
"Sorry, I'm sure you didn't mean it like that.", he says with a sheepish grin. "If you're wanting to do research, if it's something I can help with, can at least bring you books and help narrow them down."
The party discusses the various merits of wands, be they standard, chubby, or extra long, and what might best suit Coljin's desire for an expanded combat role.

Randy gives an apologetic smile. "I didn't mean to imply any short comings on your part, Hank. It's just most people find academic research boring. But if you want be my assistant, you're more than welcome. I'll be happy to fill you in on what I'm looking for. Two people working will make things go so much quicker..."
"I can't guarantee I won't get bored, but willing to pitch in and help. My prospects today are a fair bit different from what they were a week ago, I'm trying to embrace that."
((So making plans for the morrow, Randy and Hank to make headway on some research, Dornikal to rekindle connections and sell off/purchase goods with the help of Garvey, and Ulmwin and Coljin looking to peruse the markets, perhaps to get an offensive type weapon for Coljin?))
((Anything for this afternoon, or relaxing until dinner?))

((Ulmwin's done enough working all day for a while, relaxing for now. He might write a bit more in his book to detail his travel into the city and the sight he's seen so far however.))
You all spend your time in various personal pursuits, whether that is in your rooms or in a small open air courtyard tucked away in the warren of walls that makes up the inn. Just about the time that your stomach is reminding you that you've a meal set aside for you, and the scent of dinner is wafting through the air, one of the passel of younglings finds each of you to lead you back to the common area for dinner.
You are situated at a large table, the chairs and table a bit lower for the humans, so that the chairs for the small folk need not be quite so tall to best situate your mixed company. Large steaming pies, and a roast chicken and veggies are brought to the table, along with baskets of bread and churned butter.
"We've some ales and wines, nothing distilled at the moment, I'm afraid. Cold well water, if you wish."

Ulmwin is almost looking like a small child at the veritable feast, and is fully intent on putting away an amount of food that would bely his stature, then probably suffer over it for the rest of the night. He's starting with a big portion of chicken and a comparatively smaller section of veggies, grabs some bread and butter to go along the side, and is fully intent on digging into the pie after.
"My compliments to the chef! Please bring some wine for me, if you'd please?"
Randy will help himself to a generous helping of chicken pot pie, a good sized side of veggies, bread with butter, and a white wine to wash it down. He raises his glass in a toast. "Salud!"
"Wand or stave? Randy, ye gonna to become a wizard?"
Dornikal looks concerned.
Randy gives Dornikal a bit of a look. "Not for me. For Coljin. I'll be talking to Whoopsie in a few days to see if he's done with the night vision goggles I ordered. "Oh, aye. A mace will never serve ye wrong, plus it looks a bit like a fancy chubby wand."
“Hmmm. I had not given it a lot of thought, was more thinking staves…But a magic weapon with some specialty magic power would maybe be the thing.”
"I can read.", Hank responds.
"Sorry, I'm sure you didn't mean it like that.", he says with a sheepish grin. "If you're wanting to do research, if it's something I can help with, can at least bring you books and help narrow them down."

"Ale."
Between bites.
He looks intensely focused, but happy.
