Ulmwin is intent on talking to the two parental figures about their prodigy, and how maybe their resident wizard could at least give her a few pointers... After he gets a chance to talk to the wizard himself, perhaps. He doesn't want to enlist his help if he's not willing, as well as get his general opinion on the matter.
For now however his attention suddenly shifts, and finds Dornikal yelling up at a tree - to which he quickly approaches the dwarf. He stares for a moment as if something is off, then continues.
"What's that? Something in the tree that needs fishing out, you say?"
Ulmwin nods, glancing up at the tree for a moment, seeming to be looking for something, tilting his head every which way to try and figure out if he can see whatever must be up there. Eventually however, he just calls out.
"Come on out now, there's no need to be scared! Dornikal here wouldn't hurt a fly!"
When you say 'fly', you get an image of yourself soaring above the clearing in the fight against the hydra, from the perspective of someone or something in the trees to the south, near where you currently are.

Ulmwin keeps glancing, pausing only for a moment to gaze at a seemingly indistinct location in the distance, back from the general direction they came, before returning to glance back up...

And regardless of whether or not he sees something, turns back to Coljin and Dornikal.
"I'm guessing the two of you aren't sensing the same thing I am? I think it noticed the battle earlier, and was mostly impressed by my amazing flying skills," he says, with a bit of faux bravado before quickly adding on.
Ulmwin gazes up into the canopy, but isn't able to make out anything distinct.
Ulmwin?
Another image, disorienting, in its shift of perspective, shows you and your companions as they currently stand, with you gazing directly up to the viewpoint above, where you see nothing. As the image ends, you see a slight shift, what you took to be bark of a branch splitting into what look like a scaly foot, but patterned and textured like lichen covered tree bark.
Down below, with your real eyes, you still see nothing, but you feel a sense of warmth and comfort.
There's a flicker of movement as something scurries to the backside of a tree up where Ulmwin was looking and either takes flight or leaps through the canopy, quickly lost to sight and sound.

Randy sneaks off in the direction the creature was headed, but doesn't spot any sign of further movement or signs of passage beyond a few leaves drifting down from the canopy above.

"Like it was trying to show me memories, thoughts, feelings. It showed me fighting the hydra earlier which is why I think it came calling to me for 'help' when you were trying to get it to come down."
"...Have you considered letting a slash scar over a bit should you get whopped on the head for whatever reason? I think it would look surprisingly well on you-"
"Aye fought the hydra too. It miss that? Got bit...a bunch."
Dornikal looks befuddled at Ulmwin,
"Ye want meh to get a scar? Ah never really thought about it but aye guess aye could? Scars for looking pretty isn't exactly meh idea of pretty but aye'll consider it next head injury. Why are ye suggesting it now?"

Dornikal pops his neck and yells up,
"'Ello up there? Come on out or one of the gnomes is going to smoke ye out."
Silence greets Dornikal's threat.
Ulmwin:
Are you Ulmwin?
You get a sense of being nervous and scared, and an image of a much scarier, scarred, smoking Dornikal yelling is projected into your mind.

"Aye. Definitely something up there. Best it get out here. Can ye make that happen?"
Dornikal doesn't try to be quiet in this explanation.

"...I think it can camouflage, too?" he says, not seeming too certain, but clearly not spotting the real source of whatever is up there.
Randy notices the others are distracted and wanders over. "Is there something up in the trees?"

"What are ye sensing? Aye sensed with meh eyes and ears something watching us."

Randy silently puffs out a breath in frustration and heads back to the group. "Did anyone get a good look at what it was? It's being very cagey."
"I think I got the impression of something... Scaly? Mossy? It was hard to tell. It clearly can't be too big though, if it was hiding up there."
"I think it might trust me somewhat at least, though, so... I'll see if maybe I can coax out our secret admirer, if it's not run off forever."
Dornikal rubs his acid smoothed chin ruefully,
"Aye fought the hydra too. It miss that? Got bit...a bunch."
