Ringer nods in response to the request for sleeping magic, but repeats Grath,"I'd go with the light approach."
He wiggles his fingers and some multicolored sparks drip from them.
"Storm magic? Electrifying. Faerie Fire? Colors of my dreams. I llike it." says Grath to Sasha and Ringer with a huge grin on his face. "Let's do this!"
"Oh, light, heh, sorry about the confusion." Sasha says, looking a bit embarrased. "I can try something though." She says and peeks down into the bilges, grabs her talisman by one hand and makes a mystic gesture with the other and suddenly a piece of raw meat floats in the air above the water (Minor Illusion). "Perhaps this will make them interested." Deception if needed: 18
To give the illusion both substance and scent, Jonah takes a small piece of wood(or other substance) and carves a small image into its side with a knife. The crude image of a fish is very telling of the time that went into carving it, but the smell of raw fish it gives off is very realistic. A little too realistic, really. Jonah makes a face and tosses it to the water below, just under the lamp.

Arloch mutters a weak and unassured, "Well thanks," to Ambrose as he proceeds to make his way to the deck. This day was not looking to be any better than those previous. He pulls in the netting to his body before giving a wide heaving throw out into the waters. Hopefully he can catch enough fish to feed everyone on the ship, if not he was looking toward another bleak day as cook's mate.
Survival(fishing): 6
As grueling and tiring as it was, Arloch manages to reel in what seems to be just enough fish for the crew. Good thing too, he didn't want to seem like a buccaneer who couldn't hold his own aboard this ship, even if some of his co-conspirators had graciously offered a hand. Hopefully Ambrose will be able to make due and not manage to mess any of them up otherwise someone may just go hungry tonight. He bids Ambrose a quick goodbye before telling him he needed to find Scourge before he decided to have his hide. Being a runner didn't seem too horrible but having to go to and fro all over the ship may even provide useful info about the place and it's people.
Once he finds Scourge he tries to keep conversation light and clearly wants to get his extra job done as soon as he can. "Reporting for running duty sir. Never done it before but that isn't gunna stop me from taking what's coming to me. I know I screwed up dinner."
Acrobatics: 15 Constitution: 13
As he stumbles around and trips quite often by the rocking on the ship, handing out messages to the crewmen he also spots Jack Scrimshaw and tries to make out what he's saying as he's going back and forth.
Perception: 16
Feeling tired but more than ready to take on whatever may face them down in the bilges, he simply asks Grok for some scale mail and a shield. He feels much more comfortable with a nice shield in front of him. He waits until everyone is close the the bilges before pulling out his holy symbol of Besmara, the only real weapon he has ever needed in his life.
"What do you all think is down there?" He asks no one in particular.
For her morning duties, Vireil does fine, considering how unfitting this job is, and quite pointless with no wind, but whatever. She just needs to appear to be working, so the officers don't think she's lazy. Whether or not her work actually matters does not appear to be anyone's concern.
Dexterity check: 10+2=12 (-2 from her Ship action below =10, still passes). Constitution save: 17+2=19.
Perception: 9+4=13.
As she's working on deck this time, to her displeasure, it's no surprise she hears the conversation taking place rather close to her, and thus, she has no way to hide from this. Eh, sure. At least SOMETHING is going to die. She could use a chance to take her anger out on something.
At the store, Vireil asks for studded leather armour, as well as her bow and arrows. She also asks for a shield. Who knows what might happen? She should be prepared if she can. Some of what she asks for was never hers, but she's not going to deny better gear if she's given the chance. The things that did belong to her, though, don't appear special in any way. The bow looks new, but that's about it. Even the arrows appear to be just a collection of any she could gather - some old, some new, some sharp and some not quite so.
Down below, Vireil watches as the others devise their plan and start working on it. "I doubt the thing will climb up ten feet for a snack, whatever it is. If your plan doesn't work, we can just look inside and see what it is. Maybe it's not even there anymore." It'd be easier to let the others do all the work, but if they're just staring at a hole for too long, she might just volunteer to stare into the whole herself.
(Vireil wants to take the Shop ship action. I suppose I'll RP it after this encounter though. Maybe when Grok comes to get the gear back. I've accounted for it in the skill checks, though.)
[OOC: Yep, any actions not yet resolved (like Ringer influencing Concho or Vireil's shopping) will be done afterwards. I will have some going back to do so if I miss anything call it out.)
As the wood-fish hits the water with a splash there is a growling and several other swishes of water as something(s?) move under the surface.
Perception: 16
In the dim light you happen to catch the appearance of some snoots just above the waters surface...breathing. They are about an inch or two in diameter...maybe more? Definetely larger than your standard rat. It is hard to get a solid count, but you would say there is at least 3 or 4 of these creatures down there.
One of the creatures comes directly to the rope ladder and brings its head out of the water, blinking up with beady red eyes. You see what you recognize to be a rat's face, but on a body that is far too large, almost a medium sized dog. Boney protrusions stick out from it's head and back.
Realizing that it isn't going to be able to climb up very easily it scurries away back under the cover of water (anyone with a ranged weapon or spell attack can take a pot shot if they would like to).
Whatever quantity of rats are down there...they do not seem to be interested in leaving their personal swimming pool for the time being.

As noises start to rise from the hole, Vireil approaches too and looks inside. "I guess it did work, then. Good thinking." She mumbles as she tries to see what's inside. (Perception: 4+4=8. Not opening the spoiler.) Once the rat's face pop out of the water, Vireil quickly pulls an arrow out of the quiver, nocks it in the bow, aims and releases it, shooting the arrow into the water, hopefully swiftly enough that the rat doesn't get a chance to dive deeper than the arrow can effectively reach.

Vireil's quick work with the bow sends an arrow directly into the rat's eye and deep into its brain, effectively making a dire-rat-kabob. The rat sinks below the surface and out of sight.
Sasha puts her hand down into the opening of the hatch and sends the thunderous wave down into the bilges. Working almost like echo location, the spell reveals 4 other rats that are within 5' of the opening. The spell doesn't reach everywhere in the Bilges though, so you are not sure if that is all of them or if there are others hiding along the far walls.
Also as a result of the spell spiders and other small vermin suddenly float to the surface of the water, destroyed by the thunderous power. After the spell does its work the rats dive under the water, hiding from further aggression.

Edit for post con save correction, the thunderwave is enough to kill one of the other rats and seriously wound the other 3. There are now 2 dead rats down in the bilge water.

Arloch was clearly distracted by all the cool things these surface dwellers he's beginning to call his cohorts could do. Magic and arrows flying down toward the rats that Jonah called out quickly filled his sight.
He doesn't want to miss his chance as he can see them trying to scurry away so he shakes his head to clear his mind of intrusive thoughts and points his holy symbol down towards the bilges. Arloch recites some divine words before saying, "You're already dead you rats!" An ominous bell starts to toll around the one he can see furthest away.
(Sorry, totally missed that post...didn't scroll back far enough when I checked in and saw Jonah's I guess.)
