Frustrated with the dead end, she hears the sound to the Southeast. Talking to Johnathan, she asks, "Would you mind sending Echo over in the direction of the clanking armor? See what is going on over there? I'll head in the other direction, over there," she points, "just to see if that is another deadend or not. This castle is harder to find than I thought."
Johnathan looks to Shavaris as she mentions Echo. Sure thing, it’s probably just some guards but it wouldn’t hurt to look. Just remember that I won’t be aware of what’s going on here. Just tap me on the shoulder if I am needed. With that Echo flys up and looks to see what is the source of the noise.
Echo returns to Johnathan and he opens his eyes. He looks to the party. Yep. A patrol of about 14 goblins are at the south east. They are coming this way. We don’t have long, we should hide or something. Johnathan will stand next to a building and summon an illusion of a cart that has been broken. Anyone in the 15 feet illusion aren’t visible outside this illusion. I’m hiding here, you are all more than welcome to join but act fast.
Travin waddles towards the wagon but doesn't go in, instead he hunches down into his pile by the side of it blending into the havoc of the streets (stealth 22) and prepares himself for if the party is discovered, "whatevers happenses, stay in the cart! Yeh yeh!" He chirps from his pile as folk make their way into the illusion.
Hearing the Goblin patrol continue in the opposite direction, Shavaris looks back at Ward and Kerwyn, checking that they have Running Bird with them as well.
Then creeping through the opening between the houses to the right, she looks around to see what’s in that area.
Delphinium being very small easily fits within the illusion to hide with Johnathan. They whisper "Good plan." As they to so to him. Then they wait for the goblin patrol to pass them hopefully unnoticed.
The Goblin Patrol goes right past Johnathan, Travin, and Delphinium without even looking twice in their direction. They're talking about all sorts of stupid things. Some are comparing Biting Fairy stories with attacks ranging from gnashes earlobes to bit-butt cheeks. One of them talks about the raging case of gas he's had since sometime last week. Another is celebrating the fact that he learned to tie his shoes...which obvious don't have laces.
Shavaris had briefly left her part of the Dawn Guard and scouted South a bit. Returning to Kerwyn and Ward, she tells them "So there is a path that continues on South, though I do not hear anything in that direction. I feel we could either go that way, or find out what is North of the goblin patrol? Any thoughts? I would be happy to scout either with you guys nearby. Also, we'll have to let the others know what is going on too."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the goblins walk past, Johnathan turns to the others. Ok, we should be alright now. Let’s try to meet up with Shavaris before we separate too much. Johnathan lowers the illusion and begins to walk quietly to the direction that Shavaris and the others walked to.
Trav pokes his head out of his pile and looks around meeting Johnathan's gaze, "Travin could ask directions, even gets us escorted, or.. or maybe just Travin and you's all follow! Yeh Yeh instead of getting lost and all turned around agains, Hmmmm?" the little junk person seems eager to get to the castle as quickly as possible, even resorting to convincing the goblins to give, at least himself, passage. He glances momentarily to Birt, in an attempt to punctuate his point and prove somewhat to Johnathan and the others his prowess in the power of persuasion.
Delphinium nods and says quietly, "Yeah, lets move towards where Shavaris went. We just got to keep moving." the tiny fairy seems distracted even though they say this. They seem a bit more focused on where the goblins went but when prompted they follow the other two to seek out Shavaris. Delphinium seeming deep in thought as they do so. They seem to think of seomthing and say to Travin "Oh, right, try to be quiet. We don't want the goblins to find us. Sneaky like this!" Delphinium goes on trying to show the best way to be stealthy.
After Delph's mediocre show of trying to guide Travin to sneak, the junkman lifts up his robe slightly as to not drag the hem on the floor and hikes himself up on his tiptoes, "likes this hmmm?" Creeping forward cartoonishly he makes it two steps before losing balance and faceplanting the cobbles, his pile crashing down around him.
Once Travin, Delph and Johnathan rejoin the group, Shavaris follows the goblin patrol up North, keeping a good distance. Once she sees that there is nothing but a wall of more houses, she quickly retreats back to her friends. The goblins none the wiser..
"Alright, I'm going to move South a bit to where I was before as it was really quiet. Why don't you all come with to that point? Then I'll continue to scout ahead, hopefully soon we'll make our way through this maze and finally find the castle. Man, too bad we didn't have Hoggle with us... we probably would have been there ages ago. Oh well..."
And without another word, she heads between the houses and turns East, out of their sight again.
“Good work Shavaris. Let’s go see what this mad man has prepared for us shall we”. Johnathan smirks when he says this. He was excited to finally get a shot to fight the enemy. Johnathan follows Shavaris as best as he could, though her natural stealthiness made it difficult at times. Finally, we will end this. Out time has come.
Delphinium seemed very distracted as they made their way through the city with Johnathan and Travin. They kept looking up in the air or around the high rises of the buildings as if expecting to find something. Its not until Shavaris shows up with news of knowing the way that the fairy seems to snap out of it "Awesome Shavaris! Lead the way and let's go convince Blix that all this darkness and fighting is a bad idea."
Delphinium flutters over to Travin and sits on their shoulder instead of the chair so they can talk quietly into their ear. They say in a soft quiet voice "Are you ready to talk to him? Do you know what you want to say? Do you want me to introduce you? I got some ideas. Totally got to work in how you got trapped and lost your memories trying to get him back. Anyway, what do ya need from me?" Delphinium just kind of flutters on their shoulder looking at them for what they might need.
In response, travin sighs a little but nods with determination, "Travin has been thinkings of all possibles outcomes, hmmmm? Ready. Maybe, what matters is that Travin is finally heres yeh yeh, prepared to do what musts be done. Whatever happenses travin wants you to haves this, knows it will come in handy for Fireflight." With that he pops a hand up to the chair on his back and sits a solid metal lock (adept) and key next to Delphinium.
There is an amount of sincerity in the odd gesture, and likewise unusual gift, but whatever Travin's thoughts are with the item, it may be lost on Delph
Delphinium likely doesn't understand the gesture but giving a gift to a fey is always a significant event for them. It invokes a bit of debt when you give them something. Delphinium tries their best to avoid gifts, often by just taking things and planning to return them later, but sometimes they cannot refuse a gift like in this instance. They fairy looks at the lock and key with curiosity and seems ready to decline but then they notice the sincere look on Travin's face and the fairy sighs and nods as they accept the gift. "Thank you for the gift Travin." The fairy struggles a bit to fit the lock and key in their pack but they manage it by putting the lock in their pack and hanging the key like a sword on their side. They spin around a bit in the air to make sure it won't slow them down and then once satisfied flutter back to being beside Travin. "You just get to your brother. I'll help you with that." The burden of the gift was lessened almost immediately when Delph said they would help Travin meet their brother and now Delphinium was stuck doing just that.

After rolling a nat 20 for stealth, as Shavaris heads back to the group, she surprises most, if not all of them ;)
