OOC: wow... just wow... I had the DC to fake out the Drake at 16....
As Ky leaps down the shaft, her 60 feet of Dark vision allows her to see a long winding tunnel. It only goes about 60 feet until it seems to dead and to the east, and it seems to wind and you loose sight after about 30 feet to the north.
As the Drake starts to push its snout against the doorway, Cyrnair barks out the same command he heard earlier in draconic. Surprisingly, the Drake lays down (animal handling, not intimidate.)
As the rest of you filter down the tunnels, it is tight. Ky ar 5'5 is brushing her head along the ceiling. The tunnel is also only about 3 feet across.
What is the marching order, and which direction do you go?
Ennis will allow Caradoc to go down before him, assuming that Flint and Cyrnair will bring up the rear. Once down in the tunnel himself, he'll ask the question..."Should I create some light for us down here, or should I hold off until we know what else might be here?"
To provide the group with some light at the tunnel the entrance, Flint lights up one of the rungs of the ladder about halfway down. He looks at the confined space and frowns a bit and crouches down to avoid knocking his head against the ceiling. "Hrumph.... Well, does anyone want to see if anything useful are on these two," he says poking the side if one of the dragonborn with the blunt end of his javelin. (Guidance to any who investigate)
Caradoc bows and grins to Ennis, "No, I insist, after you."
OOC: So order seems to be Ky - Gelin - Ennis - Caradoc - Cyrnair - Flint
He slides down one side of the ladder and lands on the balls of his feet, bouncing up and moving along the line of allies. "Listen everybody - you're doing great. I know some of us are new to each other and we've had some growing pains getting used to each other's styles. We need to put all that aside - we're heading into the belly of the beast and whatever we run into down here is going to be ten times worse than what we've met so far today. Stick together and trust each other - that's our only chance of getting out alive and finding out what's really going on around here. This feels bigger than us - bigger than Gundren's Calling - bigger than the whole Sword Coast maybe. I don't know what that means, but I don't know anyone I'd rather have next to me than the five of you. We can do this!"
Eshuvenniel Kazander Ravid,Valor Bard and Acolyte of the Goddess of Luck Caradoc Langham, Halfling Rogue - Lost Magics - Epic of Pre-made Proportions! I'm not looking for heaven or hell... just someone to listen to stories I tell...
Gelin walks comfortably down the tunnel, as he's thinking.
"So, I've been workin on something a little new, but its likely to effect all of you if you see it. I'm bettin' it'll be helpful in these confined spaces. How about a codeword that I can yell, at which point you guys close yer eyes? Sound good? How bout something like... flapjack?"
As Ennis searches the bodies, he finds 31 GP, 11 SP, 31 CP. You also find some jewelry on them that has diamonds and opals on it. You are not sure of its total worth, but they are not giving off a magical feeling.
With the increased light, you still do not see anything past what Ky already saw, as the tunnel seems to wind as it goes north and east.
"One way is good as another at this point," Flint calls from the rear. Then to the wizard, "I was just giving us some light to look at the bodies back there. If you want to light our way I would be grateful since I cant make anything out down here."
(OOC: I presume it is pitch dark without any light source down here.)
Making your way eastward, the tunnel is rarely straight for 60 feet or so. (OOC: it is pitch black. Light would be needed for anyone without dark vision.)
Without much incident, other then being cramped in the tight space, you move eastward. Coming to the end of the tunnel, you come to a room of sorts that opens up about 10x10 in size. The ceiling is slightly higher at 6 feet tall, so anyone taller then that is still suffering the OOC chat penalties.
A ladder leads upwards, but looking up, you can see it is just sort above. It appears as if it was being worked on, but was never finished.
The room has the tunnel you came from, and another tunnel, which leads for another 20 feet before seeming to end in a dead end.
Where do you go from here?
Recap: ladder to potentially no where, tunnel to potentially no where, go back where you came feom.
Flint walks over to the ladder as it provides him the room to stand without being cramped. As the group considers their next move he looks abo e and scratches his temple. He then climbs up the ladder and pokes at the dirt above with point of his javelin.
As Flint jabs up into the earth... nothing happens but hitting dirt. (Lol). It looks as though this section of tunnel has just not been finished.
When Ky pokes into the earth surrounding them... her hand passes through the wall as if nothing was there. It appears as though some form of illusion based magic had been placed here to prevent people from moving further into this area of the tunnel.
Caradoc kneels down, leaning against the wall for support, and sticks his face through the illusory wall at a spot close to the floor and the actual wall (trying not to be noticed if there's anything dangerous on the other side).

Ky walks through the illusion to see a long cramped tunnel leading northward. As fter about 40 feet it winds to the right and she loses clear sight.
Carodoc, looking around carefully, you see that much of this tunnel system looks quite old. The dirt is compact and not much has been disturbed. If you had to make a guess, this tunnel system is at least as old as the buildings up top, or around the same age.

"Or...not, I guess..." Ennis mumbles quietly when Flint lights up the ladder rung.
At the big guy's suggestion though, he will give the bodies a once-over to see if they have anything of note on them.

"Sounds good Gelin. I will keep that in mind. Which way should we go? I dont know how much time have, but we need to capitalize on our good luck."
Looking both ways she flips a coin in the air. Heads its north, tails its east?" 4 odds its heads, even tails
"Luck has been with us so far." She shrugs. Looking at the coin displaying tails, she starts moving east.
