 The remaining goblin screams out in terror and runs away!

 "Well that was easy!"

They leave the forest and head south until they meet the Triboar trail where they make camp for the evening.

Night 1 : 3

The party head out at first light following the trail toward Phandalin.

Day 2 : 13

The have been walking for about an hour when they hear a horrendous roar coming from over the hill ahead of them. Weapons drawn they move forward until they see what is making the noise.

A huge ogre has wandered down from the southern Sword Mountains and is attacking a merchants wagon ahead. The merchants guards are all dead, they bodies strewn around the road in a bloody mess. The wagon is overturned and whimpering cries can be heard from behind it.

The group exchange a look before they wordlessly run in to attack.

Round 1 : 11 vs 17

 Hearing the heroes approach the Ogre turns and attacks!

It swings for Kara with its Greatclub Attack: 8 Damage: 12

 Blink hides behind Griell

She realises she is out of arrows and runs to attack the Ogre.

The bolt of radiant energy slams a hole through the ogres chest and it falls backward, crushing the cart under its corpse.

 The merchant climbs out of his hiding place.

"Thank you, thank you!"

The party agree to escort him back to Phandalin and even help carry some of his undamaged good for a small fee.

By late afternoon the part arrive back in town and the merchant bids them farewell as he makes for Barthens store.

 "Well ah dont know about you lot but ah need an ale."

The group head for the Inn and cause quite a stir as they enter as everyone knows about Gudrens kidnapping. They do not have to purchase any ale as locals keep buy them for the group. 

 It is not long before Sildar hears word of their return.

He enters the inn and welcomes them warmly. He and Gundren share a tight embrace. "Well done all of you. This is a great day!"

 "I'll drink to that!"

The evening passes with tall tales and long drinks before completely exhausted the party all head off to bed, agreeing to meet for a late breakfast to plan their next moves.

The group take a long rest.

The next morning they meet downstairs in the inn.

 "Ah have some business at the miners exchange." Gundren explains.

"Ah'll ye all at the Townmasters Hall at the end of the mornin?"

 "Just don't go getting kidnapped again before we find you."

 The group head to Barthens first.

 Kara purchases a new hunting trap.

 Griell tries to sell her goblets with moonstones.

Barthen suggests she try the miners exchange.

The group then head to the Lionshield Coster.

 Blink purchases a fine crossbow.
