"Perhaps gnome king and gnome Factore were not as crazy as they seem?" Katarina says as the barrel transforms into a... um... toothy-thing.
Seeing that the barrel has hurt Jasper, Katarina springs into action! And, unlike last time, she isn't planning to show any mercy. She uses her bonus action to activate Rage
Wild magic surge: 9
The cat goes eerily quiet as her fury calls to the magic. Then she charges towards the evil barrel, swinging her axe with all her might, with little thought given towards self-preservation (she's using Reckless Attack).
Attack: 22 Damage: 15

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Wild magic surge (7): Flowers and vines temporarily grow around you; until your rage ends, the ground within 15 feet of you is difficult terrain for your enemies.
(Oh wow... looks like the forums are being weird today. The original results I got were 16 attack, 9 damage. Wild Magic Surge didn't change).
'Flowers?!' wonders Khessa, while the tabaxi barbarian leaps to the attack 'Is Katarina by any chance using the love magic we talked about earlier?!' but immediately the blonde arcane warrior sees the furious expression of her friend and hears the sound of the greataxe which hits the monster's woody body with a thud and decides that no, evidently Katarina is continuing to use her anger to unleash the magic of the Weave. A magic that, apparently, can also have effects that are not directly harmful. 'We must kill this thing quickly, so I can take notes of all of this... and also pick one of these beautiful flowers! Who knows what it smells like? And if it is destined to disappear soon or, now that it has been brought in existence, it will continue to exist like any normal flower?'
((I've learned not to trust the forum dice roller anymore! It apparently messes up quite a bit these days. :( I may just use the digital dice in the campaign log from now on and just post the results here. You can do the same thing if you want to!))
Wooden splinters go flying as Katarina slams her axe into the barrel mimic. It screams with pain and its body begins to sag under its many injuries.

Echo's eyes widen as the barrel creature sinks it's teeth in Jasper, agreeing with Katarina, "I absolutely can understand the King now!" She moves to stick close to the wall so that Khessa and Katarina can have their space when they go in swinging. She reaches out again to cast the same spell.
The barrel mimic is barely keeping its feet at this point, but it continues to emit earsplitting roars of rage and pain.
As Echo releases her spell, suddenly she finds herself teleported outside of the room, about sixty feet back, toward the rope bridge.
'What the...' Khessa thinks, as Echo disappears just after casting her spell 'I did never see her use this trick before... Seems a cool one, to get out of danger'.
Echo blinks as the scene suddenly changes, the others hear a bewildered voice from outside: "Huh? Guys???"
(yes!! now the mimic has disadvantage on its attacks and checks)
(Yes, great! But it is probably dead by now... Aura critted it! Still wondering about you being teleported away... I'm not sure I figured out the reason)

"Jasper!" Khessa exclaims, shocked, as the vicious monster strikes.
But she quickly turns her attention to the ferocious barrel: "How you dare, foul abomination! Try this one for size!"
And, as she steps to attack, she mentally instructs her brother: 'Anator! Distract that ravenous thing!'
She feints a few shots, then, as the bat takes flight and circles around the enemy's head, she goes for a mighty slash of her greatsword!
(OOC: Anator is taking the help action, giving Khessa advantage on her first attack)
Greatsword Attack: 6 Damage: 8 (Slashing)
Her concern for the beloved elf made Khessa attack too istinctively to be precise; the blow bounces from the barrel body without much effect.
The blonde arcane warrior focuses and tries to amend with an unexpected return slash!
(Khessa uses action surge to attack again)
Greatsword Attack: 22 Damage: 8 (Slashing)

So its your wild magic that messed up the rolls! 😉
