Elder Kaz waves his hand, gesturing to the items on the table. On this table are a locked wooden box and four metal keys. On a placard beside the box is written the following riddle in Common:
Kenar inspects the keys and can see that each is made of a different metal—one bronze, one copper, one silver, and one gold. Close examination of the box reveals that its lock is shaped like a dragon with a fluted crest, and the edges of the box are decorated with engravings of pearls and shells.
(If you would like, Kenar can make an Arcana or History check.)
Remembering back to the lessons he was taught as a child about the different types of dragons and legends of old Kenar grasps the bronze key since the locking motif looks closer to a bronze dragon then a gold one added to the decor of the outer box it must be the bronze and a bit nervously he places the key in the lock waiting for a shock or a click and somehow nervous about either.
Kenar tentatively turns the key... and there's a click! The box is unlocked, and within is a small figurine of a bronze dragon! "Ah, well done! I must assume you know a thing or two about dragons. Good work!"
Excited Kenar picks up the tiny figure and smile delightfully at the goblin “Just a few old tales from home. Thanks again I honestly didn’t think I’d get one of these right!” Looking back at the ladies and the individual he met he smiles then waits for the final task to be completed.
Aldith nods and gives Nexus a grateful smile. "Thank you," she says quietly.
Then she turns to watch Kenar try his hand at the riddle game and wait her turn to try. As she realizes Kenar has solved his riddle, she gives him a big smile.
Nexus simply nods her head in acknowledgement of the thanks. She didn't wish to dwell on it too much, since it was just some change she had saved up for the events.
When Kenar turns around, victory having been theirs, Nexus smiles brightly, hands coming together for a series of small, excited claps. "You did it! Great job!"
Elder Kaz looks to Aldith. "Only one riddle left, my dear. Care to take a crack at it? Take a look at this star map, and the associated riddle!"
The riddle by the star map reads:
Two birds sit in a speckled field, One silver and calm, one scarlet with woe. Nigh all year, the red one yields To silver’s illusions, mischief, and shelt’ring glow.
Aldith steps forward and examines the star chart. Then she reads the riddle. Although she is pretty sure she knows the answer, she mulls the riddle carefully in her mind. Living in the Shadowshire she didn't often get a chance to look at the night sky. Perhaps that was why she found herself so drawn to this particular puzzle.
Finally, she says to Elder Kaz, "It's the two moons, Ruidus and Catha. Ruidus is red and Catha is silver."
Elder Kaz smiles. "You are correct! Catha and Ruidus, our moons, are indeed the two birds in the riddle. Well done, well done!" He says to the three of you. "You all have earned these medals for your effort. Wear them with pride!" The goblin hands Aldith, Nexus, and Kenar each a medal hewn from stone that has been shaped and painted to look like the head of a fox.
The drow that Kenar spoke to earlier approaches you all as you step away from the table. "Well, that was quite the impressive display! Each of you solved the riddles correctly on your first attempt... even for someone as intelligent as myself, it took a few tries. Oh, forgive my manners, ladies. Your friend Kenar and I met earlier. I am Galsariad Ardyth. It's nice to meet some folk who appreciate the strength of the mind amidst a veritable sea of so many who prefer brawn. I was beginning to feel quite out of place!"
Nexus, upon Aldith also proving victorious and their medals being dished out, can't help but lift her hands to the both of them with a bright smile upon her face.
"Great job, guys! High five!"
Inwardly immediately after she couldn't help but think 'Why did I do that---', so she was thankful for the distraction of the newcomer striding up, even moreso if the others didn't lean into her exuberant joy.
"Oh! Well, that's awfully nice of you to say. I go by Nexus, it's wonderful to make the acquaintance of someone else who enjoys a good puzzle here and there."
Aldith eyes the newcomer, another drow, somewhat warily as he approaches. She has gotten to know Nexus and the others a bit, especially Kenar and Shayone, whom she'd traveled from Rosohna with, but she had never been one to easily trust others. This drow, Galsariad, seemed harmless enough for the moment though.
"Thank you," Aldith says politely. "It is good to meet you. Have you tried any of the other games yet?"
As Nexus went in for a high five, Aldith almost didn't respond in time; she wasn't quite sure what the other woman was going for, but she figured it out at the last second and raised her own hand. Aldith surprised herself by laughing. "Thank you, Nexus. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to win so the victory belongs to you as much as me."
Kenar bow excitedly and thanks the goblin then instantly high fives Nexus back. “Nice job guys! honestly didn’t think I’d win in a riddle contest so that was a pleasant surprise.” Then to Galsariad “Thanks it was lucky on my part. Have you tried any of the other contest? We’re meeting back up with some of our other friends at the Horizonback wrangling if you’d want to come.”
"Oh, I haven't tried any of the other attractions. Let's just say I'm not exactly built for attempting any feats of strength," Galsariad says, gesturing to his slender body. "But I have been having a good time. I am here with some new acquaintances. I believe one of them might be at the tortoise pens, actually. If you are headed there, would you mind if I accompanied you?"
With both of your festival events completed, you all head over to the horizonback tortoise enclosures. Festivalgoers are clustered around a paddock full of young horizonback tortoises that are shuffling around inside the enclosure. The fifteen-foot-tall tortoises are being tended by young herders, who are fitting them with makeshift bridles. These individuals are overseen by a tall, attractive orc who makes sure the bridles are attached correctly.
As Nexus, Kenar, and Aldith arrive, Galsariad looks around. "Hm... it seems my friend is not here. She also mentioned she was interested in the Ifolon Plunge contest, perhaps she's over there. Thank you for letting me accompany you this far; perhaps we shall all meet again at the festival's end, but for now I'll leave you to find your friends. Farewell."
As Galsariad heads off with a bow, you all find one another again. The attractive orc waves at all of you and says, “Have you come to join the horizonback migration? There’s a tortoise for each of you, and a medal to be won if you make it to the end in one piece. Last year we had to rebuild three houses after the festival!”
Nexus offered Galsariad a little dip of the chin in acknowledgement. "Do take care, then! Most likely, though--I wanna see just how many medals we can get before the finale of the festival."
With his departure, she turned her attention toward the orc announcer/host of this event, and frankly? She wasn't sure whether or not she wanted to take part in this. I mean, yes--She adored some of the baked goods made to resemble them vaguely, but herding them? She wasn't sure whether or not she'd be any good at the task. So instead she glanced around for the other section of their group instead of walking right up to the event.
Morninglight waves to the rest of the group before they reunite. Then he goes to the orc in charge. "I will join. I know big animals." He seemed a little more confident than usual. Perhaps he was trying to compensate for losing the arm-wrestling.

You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
When Kalhala sees Nexus and the others he gives a yell and waves his hands up in the air. As they get together, he shows Nexus his medal, grinning from ear to ear "I won Nexus!! I even beat the one holding it. She was tough, but I still beat her!"
Kenar wave at Galsariad “Good luck finding your friend we might meet you after this.” Seeing the other coming he wave and smiles lifting the medallion. “Look we all passed the riddles! How did your arm wrestling go? Ready to try what ever these turtles put us up to?”
