[DONOVAN TO BRAN] Donovan erupts into joyous laughter and does a small jig. "Wonderful! Yes, wonderful! You will be a hero among the Harpers, good sir Bran. I will go tell Nadi. We'll be here waiting for you."
Everyone in the room takes in Barrel's joyous song while Jerub rummages through a large chest he's produced from somewhere, mumbling to himself all the while. After a few minutes, Jerub returns to one of the tables in the common area with a large, military-style duffel bag. "Come come! Gather round you..."
A funny look crosses Jerub's face as he quizzically places an open palm on top of his shaved head. "What does your group call itself? I don't believe I caught your organizations name?"
Hildigrim's face brightens as the prospect of creative linguistics poses itself. "A name," he says, looking around at the four others — his new family. "For us!"He places the tip of his quill to his lips and makes a humming sound. "Waterdeep used to be called Bloodhand Hold. What if we were Bloodhand's Bounty?" He looks around expectantly at the others.
"We haven't thought of a name yet good Jerub, But when we do you will be the first we tell. Now about these artifacts of yours that will help in the fight." Barrel asks as he tries to look over Jerub's shoulder.
"It is perhaps early for such formalities, we have only just met after all." Carrow places a reassuring hand on Hildi's shoulder, "Should this group remain whole, I believe a name will be revealed to us in good time."
"We haven't thought of a name yet good Jerub, But when we do you will be the first we tell. Now about these artifacts of yours that will help in the fight." Barrel asks as he tries to look over Jerub's shoulder.
Jerub looks at Barrel with an incredulous eye, "You haven't, huh?" Jerub mumbles under his breath to himself, "not very professional."
Jerub starts to untether the bag and reaching inside. "Well in any case, if you vow to see this evil artifact through to it's destruction, I promised to help. I think these items will be most useful!"
Jerub pulls out a pair of beautiful soft leather boots, with bright green leaves trimming the top. "I must tell you some of these items belonged to one of our former allies, Jeraldine." Jerub glances at the the tiefling woman now settled at the altar in prayer, then leans in to whisper to the group. "Jeraldine was Kyarna's lover. We don't like to mention her name too loudly. She would want some good-hearted Waterdhavians like yourselves to have these items though. I'll speak with Kyarna and I'm sure she will approve."
Jerub pulls out a beautifully crafted light crossbow, made of polished red wood and trimmed in electrum. He then pulls out a pair of gorgeous leather bracers of Dwarven make. The bracers are trimmed in iron, and one of them seems to be specially shaped to fit around the grip and trigger of the crossbow. Jeraldine's Crossbow | Bracers of the Arbalist | Boots of Elvenkind
"These go with that crossbow bolt case you found. I don't know what all of your skillsets are, so you must decide who gets what."
Jerub starts pulling more items from the bottom of the large bag. "These are some personal items from my travels and tenures amongst Faerun's highest learning institutions." With much bravado Jerub says, "A PEARL OF POWER!", as he holds out a beautiful, glowing pearl. "AN IOUN STONE of..... VITALITY!" Jerub holds up a small triangular prism made from bright red gem. "Now. One of my prized items... A SHADOWGLOBE!" Jerub holds up a small dark orb made of glass. "You're lucky I had two!", Jerub laughs.
"Lastly, and certainly most importantly. Manacles of Revealing! Now for all of the powerful items I have just bestowed on you. I ask that you do one more task. If you see Q again. You DO NOT kill him. You trap him with these shackles. They will reveal his true form."
Jerub knocks a fist on the table, startling a few of you. "Take the exposed Doppleganger and turn him in to the temple of Kelemvor, for only THE LORD OF THE CRYSTAL SPIRE IS FIT TO JUDGE THAT WICKED CREATURE!"
Jerub turns his head towards the bar and shouts, "Carrack! Drinks for EVERYONE! We toast to the nameless company! To you fine heroes!"
The manic Shadar Kai jumps up from his seat at the bar, and starts filling glasses on a tray. He soon brings them over to the table and passes them around. Jerub says a prayer to Kelemvor as toast, then drinks deeply from his cup. He then sits with you and explains how all of the items work. After a short while Jerub takes his leave to go kneel before the altar.

"I can use a crossbow," says Flow, "but I'm by no means the best with it. I will take the crossbow if no one else wishes to." He gestures at his pack. "I already have an ordinary one of my own, though!"
Barrel looks at the hand crossbow dangling from his hip and shakes his head. "I use the small version due to this big drum hanging on my belly, but this pearl." Barrel picks it up and admires its beauty."This is something all of us spellcasting types will want to use."
Barrel downs his drink and smiles. "Friend Jerub, we promise to do as you ask with this treacherous Q. He will see justice done to him. Thank you for your generosity. It will be much appreciated by us all and serve us well trying to get this evil artifact."
Barrel turns towards Bran and points to the Shadowglobe. "I think your days of trying to create light are over Bran."
Jeraldine's Crossbow - Barrel, Flow and Carrow have expressed interest; Barrel has a standard crossbow; I'll add that Hildigrim has +2 Dex as well (and no ranged weapon)
Bracers of the Arbalist - Will go to whomever takes the crossbow
Boots of Elvenkind - As of now, Hildigrim is the only one that has expressed interest
Pearl of Power - Barrel and Bran have expressed interest; it's been pointed out that Flow would benefit as well
Shadowglobe - No one has shown much interest, though it should go to one with no darkvision
Ioun Stone of Vitality - As of now, Hildigrim is the only one that has expressed any interest

ooc: Hildi should take the crossbow and bracers since he has no ranged weapon,
Bran is always trying to cast light, give him the shadowglobe even though Hildi would need that as well or Carrow since they have no darkvision.
I have no interest in the Ioun Stone,
The pearl would benefit any of us spellcasters. Flow and I both can heal so It would help the party more but in the end, whatever you suggest I am fine with.
I will carry the manacles just for lugging them around.
It make sense for Barrel to take the initiative and hand out the items. Again, if we find that someone would benefit more with a different arrangement, then we can swap. I think he should do it in this way (saying whatever he likes):
Jeraldine's Crossbow - He keeps for himself (or gives to Hildi if you just really want to)
Bracers of the Arbalist - Barrel keeps (or gives to Hildi)
Boots of Elvenkind - Gives to Hildi
Pearl of Power - Keeps for himself
Shadowglobe - Gives to Flow or Carrow
Ioun Stone of Vitality - Gives to Bran
Manacles - Keeps himself
If you can't decide, roll a die. Let's just get on with it. I'm really not trying to be greedy. It's just that there are two of us bruisers and with Carrow's greater speed (and Hildi's shorter legs), Hildi would make better use of a long range weapon. However, if Barrel's willing to attack now and then, I think he should keep the good weapon. It would be nice if we could fashion some kind of hat that the Shadowglobe could be attached to so that the "wearer" would still have two hands to use for combat.
EDIT: Wait! Will Hildigrim's big feet even fit in boots made for Elves?
"Fer crying out loud, We need to find the Putris Corruptus before this blasted portal closes." Barrel says as he looks over the stuff on the table.
Barrel picks up the boots and throws them to Hildi, "Maybe you won't make so much damned noise if you wear those. I think carrow might benefit from them more, sneaking around and getting behind creatures but with you making all that noise."
Barrel looks over the Ioun Stone and looks at his comrades, "Bran, This will help you stay around longer. I think you will do the most with this for now."
Barrel hefts the crossbow and bracers. He looks down at his own crossbow attached to his hip and shakes his head and hands them to Hildi. "In case you are in need to make a ranged attack against some blasted creature you need a good ranged weapon to do the trick. I can show you how to use it if you prefer."
Barrel turns towards Flow. "Hey, Flow do you have that case of bolts? If you do can you give them to Hildi so he has something to shoot out of his new weapon."
Barrel lifts the shadowglobe and tosses it towards Carrow. "I'm sure this will help you see what you're attacking in the dark without us having to waste precious time casting light fer yer."
Barrel slips the manacles into his backpack and smiles. "I know a lass that these would work wonders on."
Barrel holds up the final item, the Pearl of Power. He looks over at Bran. 'If I give this to Bran he will be able to help us in destroying these creatures a lot quicker than we have been, but if I keep it for myself I could help heal the people in our group more often.' Barrel sighs and walks over to Bran. "I feel if you can kill things faster than I would not have to heal us as much. You would benefit more from this. Enjoy it friend Bran"
"With that dirty business out of the way, Let us rest and head out. Where did we say we were going again? Hildi, what did you write in that journal of yours?"
Barrel sits down and plays his drum while the others rest and study the new items that the acquired. (I'm playing a song of rest so if anyone is using a hit die to heal themselves they get to add an extra 1d6 to the roll)

"What ye say is true Barrel, however what good will this be If I'm reduced to a pulp on the ground. No, I think for the time being, the Loun Stone will be more then adequate." He smiles and puts the Pearl back in Barrel's hands. "If you feel you are not making good enough use of it, we can always change things around later"
Barrel shrugs and sits down eyeing the Pearl while the party rests (Attuning it to me). "If you feel that way friend I will honor your wishes. But enough of this foolery, Let us regroup and decide on a course of action and go. I assume we are helping out Sven and then going to the Graveyard?"
Once the pearl is attuned to me I am going to say the word to activate it and get back a spell slot before this day is over so I can use another spell
