Tentatively Matilda approached the source of the noise....

Titaani makes her way over to the cell where she can hear the rumbling stomach. "Hello? Are you hungry? I've brought food and a healing potion!"

Two unarmed goblins occupy two cells; four remain empty A male goblin is sound asleep in his hammock; a female goblin is awake and sits in her cell, nibbling her toenails. "Food? You have food? Will you share?"

Pud attempts to send Titaani and Matilda a message.

"Hey, how's it going? Its okay up here. Let me know if you can hear this. Uh...bye."

"I'm terribly hungry! Strangers, do you have food to share, please?" asks the goblin from her cell.

In the other room, the goblins continue to work on props and sets. They notice Pud and are curious, but not curious enough to stop to speak with him. About six of the goblins appear to be children.

" We have food.", Matilda said moving forward with Titaani.

" Oh! Wait..", she begins digging through the enormous pile of trinkets shoved into her pouches for any which may be edible...shes unsure if the vitrified eye is.....but perhaps she missed something....

( Unsure, but the rest of the hoard was described as ' assorted items' so not sure what was there.)

" Horatio!", she stage whispered. " Do you still have all that bread you stole from the log kitchen?"

Ben:

Peering out into the larger room, Ben spots the mason’s tools and considers if they would be of use freeing Golmo…

Pud looks to Horatio and Ben. “Uh…should we bust out Golmo? That lantern shouldn’t be too hard to get into.”

"Here you go!" Titaani gives the goblin the food Ben gave her. "Hey, are you locked in here? Would you like us to break you out?"

Ben determines that Golmo's chain looks flimsy enough that a strong enough person could simply wrench it off, but the mason's tools would certainly make that job easier.

The goblin devours the bit of food that Titaani provides. "No, no lock. Thank you, strangers! Do you have any more? I made ...Charmay mad and she wouldn't feed me. At least she didn't turn me into a wooden mask, like Creeping Lyn does."

The doors to the cells are open; they are evidently not prisoners here. It looks more like workers' quarters.

She lowers her voice. "No locks here but I found a key... I hid it under the seat cushion of a throne in prop storage! Maybe it opens the hidden belfry in the north turret? Creeping Lyn boarded it up. It's a secret!"

“Let’s give it a try,” says Ben, “Though i don’t want to alarm the goblin children.  Perhaps you can bring the lantern holding him and the nearby tools into this room, Pud, then we will work together to free him.”

(Anyone trying to fetch Golmo in his lantern and/or the mason's tools, should make a Deception check if you're trying to make it look like assigned, routine work.)

Pud saunters into the room and heads for the tools. He nods his head at the goblins in acknowledgment of the goblins. He looks over to Golmo and says “We have to go, Golmo. Your services are needed elsewhere. There’s much work to around here.”

He gathers up the tools and then goes to collect Golmo in his lantern prison cell.

"Hey!" shouts a burly goblin in leather chaps as Pud picks up the lantern. "Skylla says, 'Don't touch the lantern.' And what are you doing with my tools?"

"Charmay" corrects another goblin in a whisper.

Pud lifts up the lantern, despite the confrontation. He turns towards the goblin, furrows his brow and points his finger at him and says...

"Excuse me? CHARMAY is her name. You know that, yet you continue to openly disrespect her. And as for these tools, they are not your tools. You work here at the behest of CHARMAY."

Pud casts message on the goblin. The goblin hears the following message in his mind. 

"You know NOT who you trifle with. Keep your mouth shut and go to your sleeping chambers."

(DM: I'm hoping to scare the goblin and hopefully reduce the DC or gain advantage on an intimidation check.)

"You may not be locked up, but you're definitely a prisoner," Titaani says sadly. "Why do you work for Charmay? She seems like nothing but a bully and a coward to me."

"We work for Miss Endelyn," replies the hungry goblin to Titaani. "Skylla is new here. She kinda took over th' shop for this one-woman play she wrote herself. I make wigs!"

"I don't work for you, little human," growls the goblin to Pud. "Drop the tools and the lantern before I fetch Stagefright. Why don't you go upstairs and watch the show?"
