"How awful," Titaani mutters, shaking her head at the mouse trap. Leaving the room, she makes her way over to where Matilda is. "Did you find anything interesting?"
" Big....um....stage thingy with the stepped seats...evil annoying lady is complaining again....maybe we should tell her that her assassin friend is dead?"
" The audience are all cloaked...I don't know what they are."
"I can help with that," Titaani says, referring to Matilda's comment about the cloaked figures. "Watch!"
Poking her head out, the gnome casts mage hand above the closest cloaked figure. She uses the hand to yank the figure's hood down so as to expose their face.
Elkhorn, invisible Gleam, Amidor, Pollenella, and Squirt come up next, followed by Horatio and Pud and an eight-foot-diameter, fifty-pound, circular wooden disk painted to look like a smiling moon. (The goblins in the workshop below don't seem to even blink when they carry the prop through to the elevator.)
A spectral, floating hand drifts out into the edge of the audience unnoticed before pulling down the hood of one of the members watching the rehearsal. Within is a small, ugly, gray-skinned, bald, humanoid head. It pulls its hood back up in alarm and annoyance but continues to watch the stage.
But Matilda and Titaani don't go entirely unnoticed. A nearby goblin in a jester’s costume taps his clownish scepter on the floor and hisses at them. He whispers, "Are you the guests? Are you ready to audition? Do you know your lines?"
Grabbing the moon prop, Ben smiles in amusement as his invisibility makes it look like the moon is floating of its own accord. He speaks the prophecy softly to remind himself of it…
“When the moon obstructs the sun, Creeping Lyn will come undone.” “Play to her passions. Stay on script. A cat, a horn, or a shadow ripped.” “The fool’s scepter is the key.”
Looking towards the stage, Ben suggests, “Perhaps we should search this place first while the play is distracting everyone—Maybe we can find that key and free some prisoners.”

Titaani giggles mischievously at the hooded man's annoyance, only to jump as the goblin confronts them. "Uh, um, we're here to see the library," she stutters, caught of guard. Then her eyes light up at the sight of the scepter. "Oooh! That looks cool! I'll audition if it means I get to hold that!"

The goblin jester scratches his chin. “To impress the Dame of Unhappy Endings, you will need to perform a tragedy—something gruesome, depressing, and darkly humorous. We’ll need to improvise, as you're on soon. I’ll feed you lines from the wings if you get stuck. You..." he points at Titaani with his scepter, which is topped with a visage similar to his own - "you'll be the failed magician. And you..." pointing at Matilda, "you'll be the drunken satyr." He whispers to Matilda, "Your first line is, 'Am I to make pie from these crumbs?'"
"You'll need costumes. I'll take you to the storeroom." He begins to walk you back down the hallway toward the elevator. “Find whatever you can make use of in that mess! You might... Oh! hello! There are more of you!” he exclaims, seeing the rest of the party (sans Ben and Gleam, who are invisible.)
"I am not a failed magician!" Titaani protests. "I'm a very good magician! See?" To prove her point, Titaani transforms her appearance using disguise self, and makes herself look the same, only wearing a long, blue robe decorated with stars and moons, and a pointy hat to match. "There! Costume, done! Now can I hold the sceptre?"

"Very good! Very good!" crows the goblin with the scepter, clapping with admiration at Titaani's transformation. "Fine. You can be the nervous apothecary, if you prefer." He leans over and whispers, "Your first line is 'No, master! He turned to stone.'"
"But you can't have the scepter, sorry. My scepter would have you believe it can do a better job than I can, but time and again, I prove it wrong!” He then begins to quietly argue with his scepter (which appears to be completely inert.) The argument ends with the goblin bashing the scepter’s head against the stone wall.
He recomposes himself and leads Titaani, Matilda, and anyone who wants to join him down the stairs to the room where the other goblin is still wrestling with a half-buried giant mousetrap prop. As he passes the party he nods approvingly at the giant wooden moon being held by Pud and Horatio near the elevator.
"Take what outfits you need. I'll be back to take you to the performers’ quarters. Your play begins in twenty minutes!"
Matilda pokes through a chest full of powdered wigs, each one crawling with harmless spiders. She finds nothing shiny aside from a parasol topped with a copper weather vane. The place is a giant mess. The goblin jester begins to depart.
“Uh, you guys got the moon prop? I wanna check out that room.”
Pud leaves the prop with Horatio and invisible Ben and heads west down the hallway. Upon seeing one of the goblins, Pud asks them a question…
”Excuse me. We need several books for the performance. I figured I would fetch some from the library. But…I have a horrible memory and I don’t remember where the library is. Where might I find the library?”

"Oh, goodness," exclaims the goblin jester to Pud, "the Library? We don't have time for that. You're on in 19 minutes! You can be the mean-spirited servant. Your first line will be, 'Hurry! ’Tis best I die quickly.' My name is 'Stagefright', by the way. Now go find something servant-y!" Stagefright waves his hands at the mess around you.
Invisible Ben finds no other sets here that match his giant wooden moon, so he sets the moon down upon a couple of overflowing costume chests.
"Oh!" the other goblin interjects, seeing the moon float by. He interrupts Pud. "Can you do that with this?" He points to the giant mousetrap he's pulled halfway out of the pile.
"Awww," Titaani whines, disappointed after being told she couldn't hold the sceptre. Sighing, she changes her disguise self to make her clothes look like they are a green dress with an apron with pockets stuffed full of leaves over it. "I hope I don't forget my line. What was it again? Master, turn this man to stone! No, it was, Master, look, it's stone! No, that's not right, either..."
Muttering variations of her line under her breath, she wanders absentmindedly down the corridor leading out of the room to the left.

"Hmm. You're right," Titaani says, stopping in her tracks. Quickly, she changes her appearance to give herself bright red hair, freckles, and green eyes. "Is this better, do you think?"
