Not focussed enough on the situation to notice that the wisp of light it hovering over her, Titaani wanders into the room. She stifles a gag at the stag's head and the chicken legs, and instead focuses her attention on the jewellery boxes. She begins opening them one by one, looking to see if there is anything inside them.
"Tiny! Come here!" Titaani calls to her familiar, who comes to her side dutifully. Titaani fills the satchels attached to him with the costume jewellery (these satchels represent Titaani's own inventory). "There! More gifts for my moms. They'll love them!"
Tiny gives her a doubtful look, and the little gnome pouts. "Well, I think they will, anyway." Sulkily, she turns to the frog statue, the darkness in it's mouth piquing her curiosity. Without thinking, she reaches out to touch it.
"Hey Riz, hang out at the bottom of the stairs. Come get me if anything approaches." With that, Rizzo flutters down and hovers in place at the bottom of the stairwell and stands guard.
Pud will walk over the the east and look out what appears to be a window.

Titaani examines the five-foot-long bronze statue of a giant frog. The darkness within its gaping mouth is completely opaque. She touches the frog; it is cool to the touch.
Interrupting Titaani, Ben finds an old flute or recorder of some kind, its keys bent and mold growing on one end. He inserts it into the open darkness-filled mouth. The end of it vanishes into the impenetrable gloom. It pushes through something soft, and he can feel a faint vibration transmitted through the flute. Retrieving the flute, it seems unchanged by the experience.
Pud sends Rizzo downstairs as a lookout then examines the window to the west. It is covered in grime. It's definitely an exterior window, but what little he can see through it seems to be entirely fog.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ben:
Describing the sensation of pushing through the darkness and examining the flute, Ben says, “I’m not sure what is behind the darkness, but it doesn’t seem immediately fatal.”
”Sorry for reacting so strongly, Titaani, I thought you were going to put your hand through the darkness,” he allows.
Now in the room too, Ben looks around for anything of use and/or hidden. Suddenly remembering he has been gifted by the fey with the ability to magically comprehend languages for a few minutes, Ben sheepishly pulls out the potions and casts his spell, reading their labels immediately afterwards.

Ben examines the bottles. Touching the words, through the lens of his fey-touched gift, they rearrange themselves to form meaningful words. One is labeled "Shrink," another "Grow," and the third, "Vanish."
As to the contents of this room, it looks like a whole lot of worthless junk.
"It's ok, Ben," Titaani says sheepishly, knowing full well she was about to touch the darkness but switched to the bronze part of the frog when he reacted. "I see you've taken out the bottles again. I'm really sorry no one can translate them for you, but maybe we'll eventually meet someone who can? I don't know. Do you think they're important?"
Embarrassed, Ben admits, “I just recalled that I have some magic to understand languages. This one says shrink, this one says grow, and this one says vanish.”
Pointing to the bottles in turn, he has another idea, “Perhaps we can label them in Common before my magic runs out so we can all read them afterwards.” Assuming they do so, he offers the potions to those in the party who might want them.
After having looked around, he says, “I don’t see anything particularly useful here, and I don’t have any special skill to detect what each of us is missing or any additional magical trinkets that might be of use. Shall we move on?”

Pud wanders into the room and overhears Ben and Titaani chat about the bottles.
"Hey, those kinda look like some of my elixirs. Cool"He looks around the room, taking in the surroundings. "Hey, Titaani, that key you found opened this door? Seems like a whole lotta junk." He looks at the frog. "That's frog statue is kinda cool."
Pud walks over to the statue, looks into it's gaping black mouth. He tilts his head in curiosity. Pud lifts his walking stick and sticks it into the mouth of the statue. He'll keep probing deeper to see if this statue is some sort magical pocket dimension.

"Wow, that's cool!" Titaani responds to Ben. "Well, I've already shrunk before, and I can vanish pretty easily. Growing might be fun though. Do we have something to label them with?"
"One man's trash is another man's treasure," Titaani preaches to Pud, acting as if she is an old, wise sage, with an exaggerated slow, dramatic voice. "You never know, we could be in a scrape one day and the only thing that could save us is faded blankets, mouldy toys, and broken furniture."
Pud probes the black hole in the frog's mouth with his stick. It definitely seems larger inside than out – he can insert his entire cane inside without touching the back of it. The stick buzzes and vibrates and sometimes seems to touch something for a moment, but then it's gone. He pulls out the cane and finds it unharmed by the experience.
"Hey, this toad statue thing might be something. I mean, this door was locked up for a reason. Check this out."Pud sticks his walking stick inside the mouth again, swirling it about, trying to show that it's interior is a lot larger than one would think.
"This thing is pretty deep! I almost feel like something is in there." He inspects his walking stick and confirms that it looks fine. "The stick has a weird kinda tingly sensation. Kinda like a vibration. But it seems fine.
Someone wanna hold my feet and I can climb inside? See if I can see anything in there. Maybe a piece of a my leg or Matilda's little brother is in there."

"No, I can't teleport Rizzo. I ain't that good, yet. I dunno what tossing a dead lorning inside will do, if it goes in dead and comes out dead, that don't tell us much."
He looks at the mysterious toad statue with a look of determination.
"Fine, I'll see if I can identify what the heck this thing does. I ain't risking Rizzo in there."

Ben darts forward and tries to pull Titaani away before she can touch the darkness, saying, “Wait!”
If he is successful, Ben takes some disposable piece of clutter and touches the darkness with it first, just in case there is danger there.
