Cad shrugs. "Either they're ghosts just haunting this place, in which case they're really bad at it, or someone went to some effort to put them here. Though for what purpose I can't guess, seeing as they just let us past. Well, weren't a couple of you looking for weapons and armor? It's mostly broken and rotten junk, but we might be able to find a good axehead or spearhead and fit it to a new shaft. Might even find a shield that's not too far gone. Unless you get the heebie-jeebies taking things from the fallen."
If the others have no objections, he looks over the scattered arms and armor for anything salvageable. ((1, +2 Perception or +5 Investigation)) After that he's ready to move on.
While Cad finds little that is still useful, Ben finds an intact spear and a complete metal shield – not without corrosion and discoloration, but still functional.
You retreat from the ancient battlefield. As you do, the suits collapse in the distance.
Unless you have further business here, the party moves on.
You proceed another hour or two of slow progress through the marsh. The terrain is swampier, now, with heavier scrub and a handful of larger trees. The fog is thicker here, too, making it harder to navigate without occasionally stopping to climb a tree to locate the star.
Matilda spots it first – a wooden causeway of some sort ahead. Like a maritime dock, with pilings and planks creating a narrow walkway a few feet above the marsh, but old and not too sturdy-looking – made with economy over durability. Matilda spots one end of it; the other end disappears into the scrub.
"Um, no, I'm good," Titaani replies, playing with her boomerang. "Actually, I meant to tell you guys before, I had a strange vision in the marshes earlier. Umm..it was..."
She pauses for a moment, collecting her thoughts. "I think it was Bavlorna. I saw her chopping meat in a kitchen, and she was wearing a red cap, leather apron, and...uh...iron boots."

The rickety wooden plank causeway in front of you matches the description you were given by Jingle Jangle of the extensive network of wooden structures that surround the headquarters of the harengon brigands. You will need to try to pass through it, or skirt around it, to reach the settlement known as Downfall, where Bavolrna resides.
(So you will now need to decide whether you want to confront the brigands (and how) or try to bypass them. And also whether you need to take a rest first. It's been a long "day" even as the sun never appears - this place remains in perpetual twilight. You are not on the verge of exhaustion yet, but you're beginning to feel fatigue.)
" We promised that nice goblin we would have a few harsh words with these bandits and the others weren't very scary so I think we can do it!", she stepped onto the walkway with a questioning look back at everyone.
She was troubled by Titaani vision and certainly did not want to know what sort of meat it was she saw....
That girl would charge headlong into a bear's den! "Yes, we said we'd look into these bandits, but we didn't say we'd do it today. There's no need to go running into their stronghold, not knowing how many there are or if there are any traps or defenses. Maybe it's late, or maybe it's just the snakebite, and definitely it's the many decades I have on the rest of you, but I'm getting sore and tired. Why don't we find a nice, dry, fairly hidden place to camp for the... well, a few hours, since there doesn't seem to be any day or night here. We can keep a lookout and if we see another group of bandits come along, we can snatch 'em up and question them about their base."

Ben:
”A reasonable suggestion, Cadwallader, and I found enough food for us on the way. Let us take our ease just as you say,” agrees Ben. He looks for a good place to set up camp somewhat concealed with a good view of the path so they can follow Cad’s plan.
Ben looks around but sees nothing but wet scrub, dark clumps of trees, and marsh. Nowhere that looks remotely comfortable to sleep on.
Atop the causeway, Matilda gets an initial look around the bushes ahead, at the extent of this causeway: she can see it connecting and crisscrossing in the foggy marsh beyond to form a wide, web-like structure above the bog. Three hundred feet away, many of these causeways converge on an enormous, ivy-covered tree stump that rises a good ten feet above the twenty-foot-high fog bank that enshrouds it. The rickety causeway, made of wooden planks, are five feet wide and in poor shape. Walking across them would be much drier and faster than continuing to trudge through the swamp, but care would need to be taken to avoid unsafe areas.
Cad finds a patch of straw under the boughs of a leafy tree that make for a dry, sheltered, reasonably comfortable site for everyone to camp. It's about fifty feet from the end of the nearby platform. It seems reasonably sheltered from spying eyes as well (Stealth checks so far: 15, 10, 20, 3. Titaani – feel free to roll Stealth!)
As you begin to rest, Ben crawls a little ahead and gets a good look through the drifting fog at the massive stump some 300 feet in the distance. There are figures moving atop it. Harengons. It looks like they have set up camp atop the 30-foot-high, 80-foot-wide tree stump. Rope ladders hanging off the edges. He sees at least 4 or 5 harengons up there, and probably more. Some have crossbows, and one is clearly a lookout.
The first watch goes without incident, as does the second watch...

...and the last watch also passes uneventfully. Cad watches through the drifting mist as a couple of harengon carrying crossbows descend a rope ladder. (They look easy to climb and descend.) They disappear into the cattails but from the sounds of wood and water you suspect that they may have stepped into a boat.
Everyone may receive the benefits of a long rest. Rise and shine!
Cad watches as the others begin stirring awake. He wonders what has synchronized their schedules here where there is no dawn. "Good morning, or whatever passes for it," he says to the first to sit up. "Too bad there's no fire. I remember camping with friends when I was young. The best part was waking up in the morning to the smell of smoke and bacon. Though I'd probably add coffee to the list now that I'm older and getting up takes an act of will."
Once everyone is awake he tells them about the pair of harengon he watched depart the tower/stump. "I'm a little surprised they used a boat. As much water as we've trudged through, there didn't appear to be any navigable channels of any length. They could be sweeping the perimeter, though, so we should take care not to give ourselves away."

Using Horatio's suggestion, Cad, too, find he can move on.

However, fatigue is beginning to set in. A long rest may be needed soon.

Everyone should roll stealth as well. A group stealth check.
Presuming you find a spot, who's keeping first watch? (Make a perception check.)
