Sitting up once more as the others begin to speak, Ben notices something different. He feels…stronger, more in tune with the world around him somehow. He says, “You speak wisely, Horatio. Thank you for saving us. We now live on borrowed time—let us make the best of it.”

A shiver goes down Titaani's spine at Horatio's words. Countless memories flash back to her as she hears the voices of her parents, the other villagers, even her old peers, all of them saying the same thing: You need to grow up, Titaani! If you don't, you'll be a danger to the people around you. Those words never truly made sense to her until now.
"Before we go anywhere - guys, I'm sorry," she laments, her ears drooping. "It's my fault we nearly got killed. I was selfish enough to refuse to fetch that crate for Bavlorna, and it was really stupid of me to try and charm her with fey magic. I mean, she's a fey herself for Titania's sake! She probably saw it coming a mile away."
The little gnome tucks her self into a ball, burying her face into her knees. "I'm the reason she attacked us. The reason we almost died. I'm so, so sorry."
Horatio would take his wet, torn, heavily soiled jacket and place it over Titaani's shoulders. "Nah. We were all on edge and she was toying with us anyways. Like a cat with mice. You just got us to face it sooner than we wanted to... My.. my older brother used to say, 'everything happens for a reason.' I used to think it sounded stupid, but, maybe not."
"Yes, it was just a matter of time...I don't think Bavlorna had any intention of returning our items, even if we got her the crate of skins," responds Ben. Standing up and looking around, he moves over to the post of the boy and considers if he recognizes him.

Titaani peaks her head up, and hugs Horatio. "Thank you...I promise I'll be more careful next time."
Matilda enfolds Titaani in a brutal hug and musses her hair, " Yes, you're a terrible friend. Now give me all your chocolate to make up for it."
She handed the marionette to Titaani, " To keep Tiny company."
Turning back to the others she handed the scrolls and the key to Ben and held up the carnival ticket to Horatio, " This says Isolde on it. Is that important?"
"Wanted: Will of the Feywild!" reads Ben. “This sorry wretch has stolen from me! Deliver him to me alive and unharmed, and I’ll give you back ten years of your youth.” It's signed, "– Granny Nightshade".
After translating, Ben says, "More thefts, if real...Although Nightshade doesn't seem like the name of a particularly benevolent being. Shall we head up to the cabin and see what respite we might find there?"

Ben can see the torchlit cave clearly up the thin ferny path up the hillside, where Clapperclaw said an old hermit lived who might be able to provide some shelter.
Everyone is still quite weak and a little groggy (and remains at 1 hit point) except Horatio.

Titaani giggles, hugging Matilda back. "Once we get back to our own plane, you can have all the chocolate in the world." She gratefully accepts the marionette, delighted with her new gift. She straps it to Tiny's saddle, then cheerfully makes her way over to Ben and the poster.
"If we go to the cabin, we need to be careful that the occupants aren't our foes," she reasons. "Maybe I should send an illusion ahead of us, and see how they react."

”A cautious approach, then. Let me see what healing I might have available before we depart,” responds Ben. He puts his hand on his amulet and looks down in surprise—the reflective surface now looks like a natural pool of crystal-clear water, and the symbols of Sarenrae wreath its perimeter in an almost…organic fashion.
Smiling in wonder, Ben calls healing to his fingertips and touches Titaani and Matilda. His magic expended, he lays hands on himself to restore some health.

Titaani nods in thanks as Ben heals her, then summons her own magic to create a silent image . An image of Titaani herself appears, albeit a little taller, and completely quiet. The real Titaani then directs this image to walk over to the cave. She ducks behind a tree as her illusionary self approaches, and makes the mouth of the illusion move as she cups her hands around her own mouth.
"Hello? We're from the material plane. We've been attacked by Bavlorna!" She calls out. "Would you be willing to shelter us, by any chance?"

Matilda and Ben begin to brave glimpses inside the cave, where they see a wizened old man wearing a blindfold, sitting at a spinning wheel, surrounded by piles of gold. He registers to Benas neither celestial, fiend, nor undead. As the old man spins, he reaches down and grasps handfuls of coins, which transform at his touch into gleaming gold fibers.
