Zale struggles to hide her fear, "I be pretty stealthy. As is me friend Zeminny. In fact, we all have somethin' to add to this task." She smiles, "We've got stealth." She points to Zeminny and herself, "Brawn," She gestures to Telurion and Kriv, "And Magic," She motions towards Fizker and Calvin. "All at your disposal." She bows to Nighthill, while forcing herself not to look at the sky.
Nighthill: *sigh* I suppose that will have to do. Now, how do we get you back out there? Leaving the keep through the front gate is out of the question. By now, too many raiders are watching it.
Nighthill gives you a knowing look, Telurion - I see... He gestures to come over and look. I’d give anything to know what we’re up against, and why. For that, we need prisoners. A commander, even a lowranking one, is best. He points out what he means. You see someone in purple robes, accompanied by a dozen guards. I would caution against attacking such a formidable force, especially when any lower-level officer can answer my questions.
Telurion nods in silence, as he ponders the possibility of capturing some sort of officer from the invading forces - 'First we need to stay alive' - he thought to himself.
Nighthill: *sigh* I suppose that will have to do. Now, how do we get you back out there? Leaving the keep through the front gate is out of the question. By now, too many raiders are watching it.
"Are there any other exits from the keep? Apart from the front door, and perhaps a back entrance?" - the paladin asks - "Otherwise we will have no alternative besides creating a distraction somehow, and use it to dash out"
Escobert joins the converstation: There's the old tunnel... It's a narrow tunnel that runs from the cellar beneath the keep to the bank of the stream. The main function of the tunnel was as a secret means of collecting water from the stream during a siege, but it can double as a sally port. Since the keep has never been besieged before, the old tunnel has never been used.
Escobert takes you to the cellar. Barrels and crates are piled in front of the door. With your help it only take a few minutes to clear a locked ironbound door. Escobert takes a big key from his ring and hands it over to Telurion.
This opens the door. The stream exit is covered with a locked irongrate made to look like a sewer outlet. For that you can use the same key.
At that moment a soldier rushes in and tells Escobert that the governor would like to speak with him. Escobert turns to the party and gives them a big grin.
After an acquiescing nod to Escobert, Telurion turns to regard his companions, key in hand - "Are we ready to go back out?"
OOC: Thinking some might want to rest and recover (not 100% familiar with this 5e mechanic, so leaving room for others to chime in). Telurion has spent 3 of his 5 Lay on Hands HP heals, but that does not seem to make it worth to take a long rest now?
((You can take a short rest (1 hour) if you think it's worth it. During that time you can do nothing more strenuous than eating, drinking, reading, and tending to wounds. You can also choose to only let some you rest while the others go their way))
((edit: assuming I'll let you complete your short rest of course))
The lock is stiff but it opens with the key. The disused tunnel is choked with webs but otherwise clear. The tunnel is wide enough for you to pass through in single file and it is dark. The Humans need a torch or other light.
(OOC: Yeah Zale isn't hurt either, the only thing she used was her breath weapon. So i agree that a rest isn't necessary.)
Zale nods to Telurion, "I be feelin' fine. Lets check out this tunnel."
She looks into the dark opening, "We will all definitely need torches. I can't see a bloody thing. Which is too bad, since the light will give us away if there is anyone down there. I suggest that those of us with dark vision should go first to scout out any potential threats."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zeminny volunteers to go first. He pulls out a small torch nub ( about 12”) lights it and twists it into a little notch on his metal hat. The torch piece is smaller in diameter than a regular torch and doesn’t burn as bright, but it provides reasonable light and as a bonus, burns away cobwebs over his head as he moves. He then pulls out his bow and nocks an arrow and heads into the darkness, ever alert and sneakily quiet of foot.

In the exact opposite of Zale, Fizker cannot take his eyes off the circling dragon and stutters his words out "I- I- I- yes I ca- I can do magic."
Zeminny warily eyeballs the dragon flying over and when he hears his named mention he perks up and says “ that’s me, Zeminny…”
and flashes a big grin, suppressing the urge to pee.
he then instantly hides behind Zale, completely disappearing from the human’s sight….
” See? You can’t see me…lol”

"If that tunnel is usable, it can prove to be a tremendous advantage" - Telurion comments back - "It is definitely worth taking a look"

You let yourself out, ok? Happy hunting!
And with that he rushes to the governor.

“If we run into trouble outside the tunnel, it could make a good defensive position.”

OOC: Telurion is currently not wounded, so as far as I am concerned no rest is needed. But I will let the others chime in.
occ I don't think a rest is worthy since no one is wounded sincerely..
Eric examine tunnel walls nodding, you can see that he is relieved to stay underground for a while
Zeminny is ready for action. He likes the tunnel idea…it’s a new secret learned.
he begins to softly sing a tune to himself, “I’m no fool, no siree, I’m going to live to be 93…I play safe for you and me…cause I’m noooo fooool..”
